 Hi!!
My hubby and I decided to be QF because we both decided we wanted between 7 and 12 kids, so we may as well let God decide. ;) So, we put it in His hands and are now pregnant with our first, a boy. The only downside I can think of is if we have to stick with the tradition of all our sons having the initials R.A.M. and having more than three boys. There really aren't a lot of good "R" names!

Once we have about 5 we're planning on buying a church bus to haul 'em all. lol But, hubby'll have to drive because of my depth perception. lol
God bless you all.

Thank you both!! :)

Wow, eight each!! That's a lot!! I don't know anyone with more than seven (cousin in-law). Well, except my grandma had seven brothers and one sister, then she had four boys and two girls. Unfortunately, all Mom could have was me so maybe I'll be able to give her a bunch of grandkids. :) I'm hopin'!!

I hope you get the family you're hoping for. Children are such a blessing, they really make life worth living. :)

Hello and welcome!

We have a 'small' family for this forum- only 4 so far :)

The quiverfull mindset is more about trusting God, than how many children you 'want'.

I haven't been on CF for very long, so I might have missed it, but what's the tradition of naming boys R.A.M?

It's hubby's family tradition. Personally, I think it's stupid, but I love my hubby so I figured we'd go ahead and keep tradition til we run out of decent names that start with "R". Then, I get to choose the boy's names. :D

That's an interesting tradition. The only "tradition" my DH and I have is giving our kids unusual names, not weird, just not commonly used names. Some of our relatives have given us a bit of a hard time about some of the names, but in the end, it's really up to the parents, right??? Oh well, my sister already told me that if this baby is a boy she will call him "Squirt" because she does not like the boy name we picked out, LOL!

For the sake of the boys, please don't call any of them Raoul or Romeo. ^_^
 No, I could never do that to my child. I did jokingly suggest Rashad Abdukrahman, but something about a white kid with an Arab/Muslim sounding name... lol Of course, this one has a unique name no one liked til I told them what it means. Hubby and I are both of Scottish descent so we picked Remington which means from the hill country. The next boy will probably be Raymond, then Richard (after his dad), then the insanity must stop!! lol

Robert
Randy (personally I  that name)

Hmm, can't think of any more offhand. I'm glad there aren't any naming traditions in our family, but we have given the grandparent's first names as middle names. Of course since we've only got one boy so far, my dad has missed out. Not that he has noticed. :)

Yeah, I wanted to name this kid Robert, but hubby hates it. lol The sad thing is, his name is Robert!! Yeah, I don't like Randy either. Honestly, there are very few I do like so this may end up being the only boy with the initials R.A.M.

The funny thing about names is that it doesn't always work out the way you plan. My husband and I both agreed on some possible names when I was pregnant with Gabriel, and we had a definite favourite boys name and a definite favourite girls name. At about three months in I said to my husband that the names we had picked were not right. It wasn't that I didn't like them anymore, or that I had another name in mind. I just knew that none of them was the name of this baby. When we saw Gabi in the ultrasound, that's when we knew we had a little Gabriel.
Planning names doesn't always work...

I like that name, Gabriel. That's what my friend and her hubby plan to name their baby if it's a boy.

I wanted to name this baby something having to do with music, he LOVES music and is already trying to dance. lol I can't wait to hold him within the next two months...

All my kids are A.M.G. :p

It started out as a joke, but then I started thinking, if we stop, then the younger ones will think they're adopted or something! so we kept on. hehe ;)

They are:
Amelia Marie
Aaron Michael
(Anna Marcella (with the L-rd))
Alexandra Marissa
Abram Micah
Allen Matthew
Andrew Moses
Amos Manesseh

I'm so sorry Anna was called home so soon, but she could not be in more loving hands.

Aww! That's soo sweet! Yeah, hubby threatened if one more person complains about our son being named Remington then he's naming the rest Reuger, Colt, Wesson, Winchester, and Gauge. lol He won't, I'd hurt him. :D
