CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

on another thread, where we were asked which scientific phenomena we find to be the most amazing, one person replies that they are all true but not amazing.
Then upon questioning, tells us what he finds to be amazing.
If you can't take pleasure in he simple things, how complex phenomena can be so simple... My judgement, this arrogant atheist just wanted to use the opportunity to let everyone know how smart he is.
But to those of us who know, it's all fascinating. It's all beautiful. No matter how simple/dull/common it may be.
So my judgement: arrogance/pride/whatever. wanted to feel superior to everyone reading the thread. like a culinary guy who turns his nose up at a fancy dish because he like to eat fancier dishes

Aww shucks thanks darkneo. But for the first time the other day someone said it scared them, kinda made me feel bad. I told them thats just how I look in the spirit world, out there slayin n all, ya know?? BUT no hard feelings, takes alot to hurt my feelins.

I always did too.
Not many give me exact preconceived impressions going into any post, even when I'm well familiar with them and know them largely to be "this" way or "that." Probably because I know the Spirit of God can turn anyone. I thought QS was a total jerk, but I never considered him hopeless. If I'm reading things right, he and I are good friends now under one of his aliases. I thought yesterday that I would get a negative and combative response from AJ, but I posted it anyway. Come to find out he gave me this wonderful return post, and I realized I had made a friend.
So I've learned never to preconceive about what new thing God might do in someone's heart, even my own. I will say that there are ... maybe two at this website that I can expect will be effecting me in a certain way if I interact wth them, and that would be HS and MK. Those two are very deep thinkers, and I almost tend to avoid both of them sometimes because I know they're going to hurt my head having to deal with their posts. Their intellect is of God, so I know those things are not going to change. I just have to decide if I have the mental capacity for dealing with them on any given day or not.

Aint it cool how God can turn something around and we were dead wrong the whole time. I like it like that. We always need to give others a change, and the benefit of a doubt. Jesus did that with us, right? Most of the time we are our own worst enemy and its not someone else.
