Yesterday at church, there was a man who kept almost drooping over in the middle of worship. He looked weak and was crying, and they went over to pray for him and turns out he had a demon (a "spirit of death" they called it). They started rebuking and rebuking and the man fell to the ground and was SHAKING alllllll over, it was crazy. He kept looking like he was about to vomit but nothing came out, but his chest kept pumping up and down, and eventually he just laid there.

Has anyone seen anything similar like this in church? My mom (a much more experienced Pentecostal than me lol) says once she was at a meeting where a man ran up and tried to attack the preacher, they held him back and started rebuking and the man began throwing up ALL OVER the place.

I've always been taught that demons can manifest during worship because if someone comes to the church that already has demons in them, the presence of God can make them weak, nervous, etc. Also, someone can think they're "dancing in the Spirit" or something but it's really a counterfeit from the enemy.

What do you know about the casting out of demons? Have you seen it done? Was it subtle or a big thing? I for one HATE when I see people "casting out" and they try to have conversations with possessed people . . . when Jesus was teaching in the synagogue and the possessed man stood up, Jesus told him to be quiet and cast him out immediately!

I'm just curious about the subject lately since I just seen it for the first time and want to learn more about it

God Bless

Freeing people from demonic inroads and influence is a task for God's people. That said, how and with what wisdom and discernment that is done is another matter. But I have prayed many times (including this morning using Skype) and seen people released from some unwanted spiritual influences.

I have seen it a couple of times. Very interesting experience to say the least, but such a blessing to see God's power at work.

One time it was a middle age lady who was into horoscopes and mysticism stuff. She shook and was rather violent when we prayed for her even though before prayer she was calm. She had said something to a lady in the church, one of the elders, and then at alter call she had me, herself, the Pastor pray over the lady. We prayed in tongues and laud hands on her and then all craziness broke loose, but she was freed, even though this 50 some yr old lady threw us all over the place.

Another was a younger man who doubled over and was locked in a hunched position. We prayed over him for nearly 30 minutes and a lady (the same elder from the earlier story) was attacked by a demon as well during this time, so we prayed and prayed. The man was spitting up and then he just fell under the power of God and is now a faithful servant of God from my understanding.

Another one that was less intense but I believe was still a case of this was a younger man who was involved in drugs and crime. He visited our church one night and afterward asked to talk about the gospel. As I was talking to him he started violently shaking and in a moment of relative calm I asked him to pray and we did. He asked Jesus to save him and was filled with the Holy Spirit as a result. Praise God

Jesus told the man to be quiet because he'd been interrupting Jesus' preaching.
That's different than what you describe at the beginning of your post. It takes discerning to know if a demon is involved in a person's actions or not.
For those who can't tell the difference, they might call everything that they are not familiar with- of the devil.

We had a small meeting one Sunday night, and a gentleman came in, claiming to have gotten freed from drug use a few nights before at a revival. At the end of our meeting, we were praying for one lady who was sick, and this man came up and laid hands on her and was praying in tongues.

But something wasn't right. The tongues was wrong - I don't know how else to describe it.

I walked up and touched his hand, and then it was like God took over. I grabbed him by the arm and jerked him away from the woman. I told him in a voice much stronger than my regular voice, "Don't you ever, EVER lay hands on someone and pray for them until you have been released from the demons in you."

We tried to cast the demons out, but as we were getting close, he yanked away from us, almost knocked down an older man, and spun away from us like a top. He tried to tell us it was the Holy Spirit, but no one there believed him.

He never did get delivered. He didn't want to be. God help him now.

I understand about not caring about the conversations but -
Luke 8 27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

I agree that Jesus didn't spend a lot of time talking to demons, but he did talk to the man tturt mentions. So I don't see any fast rule we can be dogmatic about.

I've seen demons being cast out and been apart of casting them out. I don't see a demon under every bush but its out there. I've started looking for opportunities to minister to those that are into a westernized eastern religion, will be interesting if I end up having to cast a demon out of someone.

Did you see this report?

Often a spirit seizes him. Suddenly he’s screaming, thrown into convulsions, his mouth foaming. And then it beats him black-and-blue before it leaves. ...the demon slammed him to the ground and threw him into convulsions. ...ordered the vile spirit gone...

Jesus stepped in, ordered the vile spirit gone, healed the boy, and handed him back to his father. They all shook their heads in wonder, astonished at God’s greatness, God’s majestic greatness.

Full account at Luke 9:37-43.

yeah - i would advice to NOT engage in dialect

its just a distraction - shut it up and get it out in Jesus name .
they like to steal attention remember and they are of the one whom the Lord Jesus called .. the father of lies .. so they will have nothing beneficial to say .

thank you for that testimony - amazing how the lord can bring a boldness on us that not of us . may he do so all the more that he may be glorified amen.
