Have you been a object of someone's mocking or scorn.

Have you ever been:

Imitated or ridiculed, mocked as an inadequate person, treated with contempt, dispised or rejected or even refused as unworthy.Maded a laughing stock and joked about. If you have you will know the feelings or rejection, worthlessness, shame and hatred.
How do you handle this situation. I know in the past I have felt the pride rising within me and have had to fight back a retort. Keeping my peace has been one I have had to lean totally on our Saviour. Asking him for wisdom
And thanking him for help with self control and keeping my mouth shut.
Following in the footsteps of Jesus and answering my accuser's not a word.
Trusting God that he is my defender, my vindicator.

There is much said in proverbs about if you rebuke such a person. Be warned of quite a bruising.
We are also warned to expect it.

Hebrews 11v36 saids;
Other's had to suffer the trial of mocking and scourging and even chains and imprisonment.

My question to you how do you handle mocking and scorn and how do you help others who have been a object of this sin.

Ridiculed? Treated with contempt? Rejected? Made a laughing stock? Refused as unworthy? Who ME? lol Nah! But I have heard it happens! doesn't sound like fun to me.

But if it happened to me, I would find remaining silent and maintaining self control would be the most difficult. But if we could all tatoo Romans 8:28 on our brain, it would sure help. The times I get into the most trouble are the times I forget that.

Thanks Gerry I will remember romans 8v28. Yes and so true the times we get into the most trouble are the times we forget.

One think I have found with scorn and mocking in proverbs it lists pride before it as being its root. The times I have run into mocking and scorn infact even though directed at me infact it has been God's word that has been mocked, scorned because of pride people are not wanting to acknowledge sin.

Long ago there was a very special and talented singer named Dinah Washington. She recorded a song entitled "What a Difference a Day Makes." In my life, as in the life of ALL Christians, it makes all the difference in the world. We should all be busy learning and growing Spiritually on a daily basis.

If tomorrow comes and we have not grown there is a problem.

I have been placed in a position in which I was scorned, you might say, in front of people who looked up to me, in a place where I couldn't really do anything about it (God's sanctuary), by someone who should have known better. I just walked away, hurt, embarrassed that someone would do that in such a manner.
No replies, no comebacks, nothing. Just turned and walked away.
Nothing has been said about it since.

Praise God for that wisdom!

Yes. This is something we stand powerless to handle on our own. Only by depending on the Lord and crying out to him for guidance, can we learn how to handle such situations.

Sometimes we are expected to stand face to face with our false accuser, and the Lord will give us words for them. But the words that he gives us for them will never cause hurt or pain. Nor will they do more damage than what's already been done. The words will be for healing.

May we never forget he died for them, just as much as he did for us!

You are right. We must always remember that Christ died for whosoever will, and that we, as Christians are required and commanded to pray for our enemies and those who despitefully use us.
