We are bombarded by a flood of claims as we switch through t.v. channels or magazine pages. the adverts we see assure us they are fantastic, and capable of changing our lives. for little money they tell us we can have glamorous life styles, new cars, bigger houses and it guarantees to bring happiness, friends and the good life. But talk is cheap, and too often we soon realise that the boasts were hollow, far from the truth.
We christians can also sometimes be like the t.v. & magazine adverts. We also make great claims but sometimes are guilty of belying them with our actions.Professing to trust God and to be his children sometimes we contradict the gospel with the way we live our lives.

Then james shows the importance of controling ones speech (3:1-12) .....IN(3:13-18), James distinguishes two kinds of wisdom, earthly and heavenly.
