JKalby, I'm sorry I said unChristian, it wasn't very nice of me. (If you notice, I didn't say that you were unChristian, I was purely referring to the attitude of being glad that [in your view] someone was going to hell. But it came out wrong and I shouldn't have said it.) Sorry. :)

Saying that my actions are unchristian is the same as calling me unchristian. + you never backed up your words.

I've been thinking about why sin against the Holy Spirit is the only one that can't be forgiven. Why can't you get forgivness for that? What makes the Holy Spirit so special that it does not tolerate sin? Well, my conclusion is that since the Holy Spirit is what was given to the christians to be able to go to heaven, then off course without it you can't go to heaven. The disciples of Jesus was pretty useless without it. And no matter what sin you do and don't get cleansed from asking for forgivness and getting mercy, you will be without the Holy Spirit. So basically any sin is a sin against the Holy Spirit. I actually do not think its possible to directly sin against the Holy Spirit, cause it will be long gone even before you would try to. The sin is to say no to Jesus. This is the only sin. And without the Holy Spirit the forgiveness from the Cross will never come to you.

Hope you get my point, even if i have bad english :)

I have said sorry and I've even deleted it, so hope you might accept my apologies. (By the way, you're mixing me up with someone else - you asked Bouke285 to back up his/her words :))

I really don't like arguments/debates so I'm going to leave this thread now.

The thoughts themselves are not sin, they come from the Devil. The problem is when we enter into a dialogue with the thoughts and accept them and then act on them. That is when they become sin. When the thoughts come, the important thing is not to enter a dialogue with them but to ignore them and to repeat the prayer "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me!" Our strongest weapon against these thoughts from the devil is prayer!
The following pamphlet that explains the stages of sin may help you:
http://www.asna.ca/resources/praxis/five-stages.pdf

The only sin that truly cannot be forgiven is the refusal to repent of our sins.
God bless!

After reading this thread, I have come to two conclusions:

1.) The voices the OP are hearing are from the devil.
2.) So are the voices saying that the OP cannot be forgiven.

Edited to add, as I should have typed in originally:

Superman, I pray that God will ease your mind and rebuke the voice of the enemy telling you that you have committed the unforgivable sin. I do believe that there is a "blasphemy of the Holy Spirit," as detailed in Matthew and Mark, but it is not something that can be committed lightly or accidentally. An uncontrollable thought over which one has no conscious control is not a sin. Sin is *always* an intentional act. Sin is when you know very well the consequences of your action, and you choose to do it anyway, and you don't care. This doesn't describe you, since by making this post you demonstrate that you do very much care.

Finally, please understand that I am not qualified to make a diagnosis, but if I were you I would be evaluated psychiatrically to see if there is a biological reason for these voices. What you are experiencing could be a matter as simple as a brain chemistry imbalance. (I know people with schizoaffective disorder.)

You know what you really believe and God knows those thoughts are not your own. Being as the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin (John 16:8), the fact that you're even concerned about sin in general shows that you did not in fact commit it. Otherwise, the Holy Spirit would be wasting His time on someone who couldn't be forgiven anyway. No, if you had really done that, you wouldn't care. Ever. This is just Satan joshing with you.

Excuse me, unchristian? How dare you call me that. I have quoted only what Matthew & Mark have said which is straight from the Bible. Are you calling the Holy Bible unchristian? Then perhaps you yourself are blasphemizing our Lord. I am not suggesting that God is unable to forgive someone for this sin, rather, God does not want to. I don't blame Him, to blaspheme the Holy Spirit is asking for an eternity in Hell. To even question what the bible teaches us is wrong and it is you that is "unchristian".
Satan also quoted the Psalms in order to tempt and deceive Jesus. The word of truth needs to be rightly divided.
