I have an opportunity to move into one of the oldest houses in the city I live in. It's a great opportunity and it will be used to host christian college groups weekly. It's a huge house and low rent, it even has a swimming pool. Everything sounds great and I'm ready to move in.
But, I have recently been hearing bad things about the owner of the house and the way he treats people. He owns a day spa, and I know a few people that have worked for him and chose to leave because of the way he treats others. I have also heard that he totally screwed over a business partner he had in the past. This concerns me the least, since I won't actually be on a lease.
The first thing I was told about the house concerns me the most; two people were hung in the front yard in the late 1800s or early 1900s (the Ruggles Brothers, I believe). And as of tonight, I heard that the house in haunted in a major way. Not just poltergeist stuff, but evil stuff. I don't know the details, but apparently people don't stick around in the house for very long.
The first time I visited the house, I cut my finger deeply on a piece of metal in one of the closets and immediately figured it was a bad sign... an omen if you will. I just have an uneasy feeling about this house, but the college pastor really wants me to move in with his brother-in-law (a friend of mine) and start this ministry.
Even if there is no "evil" in the house... I'm kind of spooked now and don't know if I could sleep in the house regardless. To me, it seems kind of like camping in a cemetery. Ugh.
What do you guys think of my situation?
