I was wondering what god says to do about hatred.

Like.. There are 3 people in this world that I truly hate. My adrenalin starts pumping and a frown comes to my face whenever I start to even think about them. Much worse whenever I see them face to face. They're the kind of people that I could kill and not feel bad about it. I want to know what god says to do if you hate some one.

I was wondering what god says to do about hatred.

Well, yeah, this is the wrong area to post your question, but I'll answer it for you anyhow.

There’s a few verses that I will give you. I suggest that you look them up and pray about them. I will quote them in the NIV of the bible, so they may read slightly differently in what ever version you use.

Matthew 5:43-44:
43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”

Mark 12:31:
31”The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."

Luke 6:35:
35”But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.”

John 13:34:
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Ok, these are the verses where Jesus talks about loving our enemies. The one thing that He did not say is that it would be easy. In fact, it is very hard to love someone you hate as much as you do these two people.
There is even a passage where Jesus asks God to forgive those who crucified Him. He says, Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:24

Then there’s what is said else where in the New Testament.

Colossians 3:13:
“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Simply put, we need to forgive others, no matter what. Easier said than done, that’s for sure.

There are only a couple of verses that use the word hate.

Romans 7:15
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Romans 12:9
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
But there are more verses that speak of loving our enemies and how we should treat them. I like this one best of all:

Romans 12:20
On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."

There’s a statement that my grandfather said that fits well here:
“If somebody wrongs you, kill them with kindness and you will lead them to God.”

God does not want us to hate. I have a probelm in this area,as there a few also in my life that are hard to be around too. We are to love at all times,just pray about it. Let God help you by showing love to them.Also pray for your enemies and have God soften their hearts too. Love everyone as the Bible tells us.That is the greatest gift because He loves us!Hope I helped!

Sometimes I have thought I hated someone, but I don't think I have it in me to hate. One particular time I thought I did hate this girl, and she said asked my friend why I hate her so much. I thought about and realised although I did have some reasons to dislike this girl, I didn't have to hate her-or think I did. I eventually got the message back to her that i didn't hate her so not to think that. After that the hostile feelings towards her subsided. I still wouldn't count her as one of my best pals..but unlike before I don't want to beat her up.

Trt and be positive. I know it's very hard when you dislike someone but that's what i did and the negative feelings started to disappear almost instantly.

You can always pray for them. It's really, really hard to do at first. I mean really hard. But God will bless your efforts, no matter how slight at first and give you more strength to continue in it. At first, you may only be able to force a couple of words out, but you'll find that it's hard to hate someone you pray for, because you're an agent for their good.

The Lord gives us many passages in his word about Hate. We have to love our enemies at all cost as Christ loved us. It is a difficult thing to do in the flesh.

I think this is why we have to crusify the flesh daily. The emeny pounds on our flesh. He wants to tear us down and give up. The war starts when we become Christians. The enemy did not like it when we gave our heart to the Lord.

We will fight the enemy until we leave this cruel world. Pra y for your enemies and let it go. When you go meet the Lord you do not want this in your heart.

yes,we have to love our enemies. Believe me it is not easy,been there done that and still go through it. I actually try to think of how Christ would act when my enemies come around. Just try to friendly and say hello. Pray for them, and pray for the hatred that you feel. We all have a flesh and God knows how you feel,but just tell him,He can help you with it. Remember that LOVE is the greatest gift. God loved us that He gave!
