  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Rev, I’m jealous of your attitude. I am a backseat driver. If I don’t understand exactly what’s going on, then I throw a fit!

AHS, I’m jealous of your attitude too… The holy spirit probably thinks you’re nice and respectful… calling it a shepherd. I’ve been calling it a bunch of things lately, but nothing very nice. Is that the secret, be respectful? I’m seriously asking, because my approach lately is go ahead and be honest how I’m feeling. Also, I know I am heard. But in my experience, the HS doesn’t bother to elaborate or argue.

I don't understand the nature of the Holy Spirit aside from it being God's voice to our subconscious, and sometime to our conscious.

The owner of the flock is God the Father ALmighty, and His Shepherd over it is Christ Jesus. The nature of the trinity is a mystery, but I do not refer to the Holy Spirit as our Good Shepherd, that would be Christ Jesus, who listens for our cry of repentance, hurt, praise or whichever the Holy Spirit convicts us to do, and finds us, makes us clean again for the owner, His Father, our Father.

Hoped they would have taken a stand and stuck to it.

That makes me more upset with them than what I was feeling.
I didn't like the mixing of business and religion for free advertisement. But to step down and turn around seems chicken or maybe fishy.

Well, you know what they say about snake......smells like fish, but tastes like chicken.

PS......Down here in KY I got a little 23 acre paradise. Well, it's a couple knobs with 2 wet weather springs. But anyways, got a rattler there about 3 yrs ago, almost 6 ft long. And the ole man up the road skinned it and cooked it up, and man........delish

Better than anything chickfila ever plated.

I heard it is good. Just hard to catch.

6ft snake, I'd have to use a long gun.

I ran it over with a 4 wheeler, not paying no attention.

You know, I spent the next 2 days out there scouring every nook and cranny in the mountainside looking for more.......didn't see as much as a garter snake.

Yes, it seems no one is "old fashioned" anymore. I certainly fit into that group considering my non-political correct values. I don't think it's about the inclusion of gays in the sanctity of marriage but rather the idea that, given enough time, we can make a case for ANYTHING if we just yell loud enough and get a bunch of people to get in your face and say "you are gonna like it or you are going to be labeled a bigot or a hater."

you know, there is always two sides to every story, i am just reading this website ( it is an lgbt affiliated, so i can not be 100% certain of it's accuracy, but then again, sadly, Christians are not much better)

it stated Dan statement "We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives,”

it then go on to quote an ex employee statement "I want Dan Cathy to make a public statement that said that Chick-fil-A, their leadership team and the Cathy family love all of God’s children including gay and divorced children,” Cammett told WGCL-TV.

i think this ex employee has a point, God did tell us to hate the sin, and love the sinners.

where is Dan love for Gay community?

if this website is telling the truth, then he deserved to get boycotted.

i do not know if God would be on his side too.

...the first part of that made sense, at least, though I didn't agree with it. But most of it just....didn't make any kind of sense? How is donating money (HIS money) to causes he supports, in any way related to the "mark of the beast"? And where on Earth does anti-christ fit in here??

Small scale sample I know but even from here its does interest me that it seems generally men who get more exercised about the whole homosexuality thing than women. I've never really heard much said about it by female Christians. Is there a reason for that - women in general do seem more relaxed re showing affection to other women (and I mean in a non-sexual context) whereas often even some male Christians attitudes comes perilously close to sounding like homophobia (and I can hear plenty of that from some of the heavy drinking, womanising, married, never darkened a church door guys I work with).

good point. i noticed that too. i often wonder if male Christians are often a little obsessed about gays and use such strong languages when talking about them is partly due to their inner homophobia?

many of them do not seem to feel that strongly about other sins?

and are not all sins are equal?

I have never met a Christian who stands for Biblical values and knows what God says about homosexual sex who is afraid of homosexuals. "Homophobia" (a recent invention) is a word homosexuals and their supporters use in an attempt to belittle and make seem ill Christians who take a Biblical stance but is really not a valid word for that stance.

Homophobia is a range of negative attitudes and feelings toward homosexuality or people who are identified or perceived as being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). Definitions refer variably to antipathy, contempt, prejudice, aversion, irrational fear, and hatred

i have no doubt "many" Christians who are homophobic are not slightest intimidated by homosexuals. it is homosexuals who should feel intimidated by them

yes, i think many gay activists probably used those words on people who hold such stance on homosexual behaviors, that said, if those very same Christians who actually obey God words and love the sinners, they probably wont be on the receiving end of such accusation so often!

and if they did crossed into hating the sinners, then they are homophobic!

so please, do not cherry pick the passages out of scripture please!

God clearly tells us we are to hate the sin but love the sinners!

I have never seen a homosexual protest that made a differenciation between Christians to whom they apply the homophobic word. The Bible is clear that God condemns homosexual sex (not the homosexuals) is true and we should be busy educating Christians who don't understand that. But we should not be about supporting homosexual causes.
