  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Four years ago, I was putting up a Christmas tree in the house I raised my kids in. I was married, and looking forward to having my kids together for the holiday, along with my husband. One month after Christmas, around our 25th anniversary, he tells me he is moving out and filing for a divorce. My world ended. I live in an apartment, and my kids are living away. He is married and living in an expensive townhouse.

I hate the holidays. I hate the romance in the jewelery commercials, and the family stuff with all the coziness, and fireplaces, which I had in my house.

I want to be held in someone's arms, and given a gift of love and romance by a Godly Christian man who is devoted to God and family. Instead I am single, and have no man in my life.

I hate my life.

I am so sorry. The joy of this holy day has nothing to do with the glitz or glamour but about the love of God for lost humanity. Think on that precious gift you have instead of what you don't.
I pray that you can find relationships to fill the lonely places in your life.

Good advice above! Also, count your blessings. Try to think about all the "good in your life versus the "bad." Sometimes when I'm feeling down, I try to remind myself that things could always be worse. It's easy to sometimes forget to be thankful for some things we take for granted...like our health, eyesight, hearing, ability to walk, etc. It is very humbling and convicting when I meet people who have it worse than I do in life. Trust God and know that whatever you are feeling will pass. Good days will be coming soon. Keep the faith. I will keep you in my prayers.
