Hello Ronba

I suggest you take a closer look at these verses you use to support the Sabbath, For one, These people in the synagogues WERE NOT CHRISTIANS.

They had not yet, or were for the first time hearing the gospel and wanted to hear more. They had not yet made a decision for Christ, Like the Bereans in Acts 17 they were investigating to see if what Paul was saying was really true before they made a decision.

Acts 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.

Acts 13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read ° every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

Acts 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

Acts 13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

Acts 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

Acts 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and ° three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue ° every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews
and the Greeks.

Now, what did Paul teach the CHRISTIAN CHURCH CONCERNING THE LAW?

Ac 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

Ac 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Paul receives approval of his teachings from the Jerusalem council, Do you see the observance of the Sabbath listed as one of the NECESSARY THINGS that is required of the Gentiles to obey?

Ro 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

Ro 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Ga 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Ga 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

Ga 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Paul never makes any statements claiming the Jewish Sabbath is not included in these Teachings, You have to use eisegesis to come to the conclusion that he does not include the Jewish Sabbath,

Ro 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Ro 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Ro 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Even when he does discuss the commandments he never mentions the Sabbath,

2co 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

Paul calls the law written in stone death and the authority {glory} of it was never meant to last forever, The Sabbath was part of the law engraven on stones and again he does not say " except for the Sabbath which you all know is a memorial to creation and must be kept forever or face Gods wrath because it is a test of all true believers in Christ."

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Again there is no indication that the Sabbath is not included in these verses as being done away with along with the rest of the Mosaic law,

Now if I am in error and there actually is a New Testament verse where Paul or any other New Testament writer states that we must keep The Sabbath today because it is still binding on the believer then please post it so we all can see it.

As the Sabbath was never an issue with the early Christian Church it did not have to say you must still keep it.

At no time was the Sabbath ever done away with.

We need to have a verse that says the Sabbath has been changed.

It is much more important to have a verse that says the Sabbath has been changed.

We all know that there is no such verse.

Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Eph 2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

The law that contained the ordnances were on the outside of the ark. God's ten commandments were on the inside.

That should tell us something. The Sabbath and the rest of the ten commandments are not against us.

So considering the multitude of instructions that were given to the church by the Apostolic writers for instruction and correction you are saying that they never had to explain proper Sabbath keeping to Pagan Gentiles coming into the church ? This issue which you have claimed is so vitally important does not even have one verse saying that Gentiles should keep the Sabbath today? Not one time? :scratch:

Or is this just an evasive answer to avoid having to admit that no such verse or teaching exists in the New Testament?

Hebrews 9:

3Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, 4which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.

How then do we follow the jar of mana and Aaron's staff as we do the tablets?

The command is there for us to follow the commandments.

There is no command for us to follow a jar of manna or Aaron's rod.

In Revelation John says that God's people will keep the commandments of God.

In fact John says that twice so God thought it was important for us to know.

John does not say a thing about the rod or the manna.

Look back at the texts I have given. It is easy to see how they went about teaching the Jews and the Gentiles.

The above texts tell me they were taught the truth.

Hello ronba

As already stated the people in those verses were not Christians, They were Jews and and Gentile proselytes of the Jewish religion. No matter how many times you post them in what ever bold color and font size this simple truth will not change.

We have shown you many New Testament verses where it is taught that the observance of any day including the Jewish Sabbath was a non issue in the early church,

You have not provided one solid scripture to support your position, The best you can do is say the Pagan Gentiles already knew the Jewish customs, Which also can not really be supported by scripture,or even simple common sense.

To me all you have really shown is that eisegesis is a very usefull thing when you have no actual scriptural support,

To tell you the truth here is what is needed.

The day of worship in the early, I say early Christian Church was not an issue. I agree with that.

Now why wasn't it an issue?

The reason being is that they all worshiped on the same day, the 7th day Sabbath.

Once again, what you are saying contradicts scripture. Acts 2:46

"Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts."

They met everyday, not just the Sabbath
Just because they met daily does not mean that the Sabbath has been changed.

You and anyone can have a religious meeting any day of the week.

To make it holy, God must say so as He did at the start.

That has never been done to Sunday or any day apart from the 7th day.

The Sabbath is still the last day of the week, just as Monday is still the second day of the week. Yet neither of them are required days of worship (No specific day is)

The London Confession of Baptist Faith, Chapter XXII
Of Religious Worship and the Sabbath Day
VII. As it is the law of nature, that in general a proportion of time, by God's appointment, be set apart for the worship of God, so by His Word, in a positive moral, and perpetual commandment, binding all men, in all ages, He hath particularly appointed one day in seven for a sabbath to be kept holy unto Him,[28] which from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ was the last day of the week, and from the resurrection of Christ was changed into the first day of the week, which is called the Lord's Day:[29] and is to be continued to the end of the world as a Christian Sabbath, the observation of the last day of the week being abolished.

28. Exod. 20:8
29. I Cor. 16:1-2; Acts 20:7; Rev. 1:10

VIII. The sabbath is then kept holy unto the Lord, when men, after a due preparing of their hearts, and ordering their common affairs aforehand, do not only observe an holy rest all day, from their own works, words and thoughts, about their worldly employment and recreations,[30] but are also taken up the whole time in the public and private exercises of His worship, and in the duties of necessity and mercy.[31]

30. Isa. 58:13; Neh. 13:15-22
31. Matt. 12:1-13

Have you ever read Ex. 20:8-11

"Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy...."

It was never done away with, there has never been a command to change it.

So why not keep it.

The command has never come from God.
