  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just watched all 7 of the films, (2 per night) in the last few days. I am now waithing for the part 2 of the Deathly Hallows to come to our Imax theater. I am going through withdrawals right now.:D

There is so much about the movies that I love. For one thing, Harry's humility is breathtaking. The scenerery is jaw dropping, and I just love all of the characters. Not to mention that my 3 favorite actors are Gary Oldman, Allen Rickman, and Helena Bonham Carter.

I just don't want it to end.

My favorite character....

Tonks. And I was always a bit miffed that her character was given such a small role in the books for such a powerful character. If she were not a powerful character, she wouldn't have been killed off in the last book.

Up next would be Bellitrix LaStrange.

No, I do not buy into the whole pop-culture paganism thing.

I totally understand, in fact, that is why I didn't see any of the movies until just now. My son is old enough to discern, and we have discussed everything in the movies.

Ironically, I found myself impressed with how many Godly principals we really could pull out of it. For instance, Harry's amazing meekness. That was what sucked me in from the get go.Not to mention that his power came from his mother's sacrificial love. Anyway, I went from a doubter, as in avoider, to a fullfledged fan, what can I say?

I became a HP fan this year. :) I haven't read all of the books yet, but I have watched all the movies that are out so far and love them! Like Romanseight2005 said, I really like the themes throughout the movies. True friendship, sacrificial love, good vs. evil, etc. They are also full of a lot of emotion that really draws you in.

I bought my ticket for DH Part 2 a few days ago!

I'll wait a few weeks and see it end of July. I hope nobody spills the plot and ending to me in the meantime.

I hope the same for you, too. For me, I kept stumbling upon spoilers and not on purpose. :( Naturally when you become a fan of something, you tend to want to read more about it, right? So the spoilers were often hard to avoid. That is one of the reasons why I had to make sure I read the last book before the last movie came out - I kind of wanted to be on the "same page" as most of the fans. Granted, I still have to read books 1-6......well, re-read 1 through 3 rather, since I read those back in high school (but barely remember them).

10 days until DH Part 2 hits theatres!

I'm not addicted, but I am planning on watching the final movie in theaters :) I've seen all the other films in theaters, so I must see the final film at the movies! Secretly though I'm hoping the final film will diverge from the book and that Voldemort destroys that snot-nosed punk Harry ^_^
