  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What about "Jack Ryan?"

He does kinda fit the character - like "Ritter" said in Clear and Present Danger - "Your such a Boy Scout" - he was correct - Harrison Ford does play characters that have kinda like a boy scout mentality.

han solo is like a younger version of indiana jones and thus, there isn't that big of a jump to play those two characters. blade runner is superior of the star wars and indiana jones characters. it's a more serious character study for pretty much all the actors involved; the story is much deeper and less fanciful or campy. the look of blade runner and the dystopic atmosphere has been copied countless times as opposed to the lucas/spielberg films which both have the same feel of the old time serial (which they are based off of) while ridley scott's work is more inspired by metropolis's design and has deeper connodations with nods to huxley's seminal brave new world. playing a wise cracking hero is easy but to be a chacter of conflict as deckard was shows off ford's acting a bit more than the fluffier star wars and jones films.
