How is everyone's Sunday going?

This morning, the Church I attend (UMC) had our Communion service and the Pastor delivered a sermon on the importance of Bible study and how it can help us grow on our walk with Christ.

Right now I am sipping some coffee and planning on having a cozy afternoon.

Our worship was sparsely attended this morning. We got eight inches of snow (which may be nine or ten by now). But our choir sang a beautiful communion anthem and we shared in the sacrament together. It was worth fighting the weather.

I enjoyed the two church services that I attended. I'm really starting to enjoy my new Nazarene church that I am a member of since last September.

I had my Nazarene Nap and then made pumpkin muffins.

Rats! Well, have your pastor post his outline on CF for me then. I'm preaching on that subject all month.

It would definitely be great if the sermons or it's outlines started to be posted online. I will definitely bring it up to my pastor (hopefully without being too much of an annoyance ).

And your sermon series sounds very interesting! I pray it will go well!

I don't know how helpful this will be, but I do remember a lot of what was said in the sermon. First our pastor connected us to the past, first during the times of Jesus when many must have met in their homes and buildings to discuss this man known as Jesus. She then discussed the early Methodist class meetings and how they gathered together for both study and prayer. She then discussed how we often need more than just an hour a week of trying to connect to God, with both prayer and Bible study playing a large amount of importance.

That sermon actually inspired me to sign up for a Bible study next Sunday!

No. I attended an Episcopal church earlier. It is one that I had connected with when I lived in this area before my year in VA. I liked it before because it had a nice quiet 8 am service and I got to know some of the people. Now, in a time of transition and healing I will still drive 30 minutes one way so that I can reconnect with old friends and worship without being "on" in my Nazarene church if that makes sense.
