  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Any resolutions?

I want to save money, pay off some bills, lower my blood pressure...

But most of all, I want to develop a closer relationship with the Holy Spirit. I started attending noon service/Mass at a Church near my job a couple of years ago. Last year, my attendance REALLY declined, and I want to return to my earlier habits. I was healthier then, spiritually, emotionally, and physically (the 1/2 mile daily walk did me good!).

My resolutions typically fall apart before January ends, LOL. I'm going to put some effort into the last one this year!

Happy 2002, and Peace be with all of you!

So far my resolutions are going 1/2 well. I had 2 resolutions.

1) Keep up with daily devotional reading and journalling.
2) Eat healthier and exercise more.

1 is going well. I did my reading and writing this morning. 2 is going iffy...I haven't done much exercising at all with my time off from work, and it's hard to eat healthy because when you're sitting at home all day...it's just so much easier to pick up a bag of chips to eat instead of making a healthy snack or something. But I know that with God's help...I'll be able to do what I want to do! :)

I have more than one as well. :)

1) To discipline myself to patience at all times when dealing with my children. I raise my voice more than I should, and don't always just stop and listen when they just want to tell me little things. I can see that it hurts their feelings when I brush them off with, "Not right now. Tell me later." I actually started about a week ago and I am doing much better, and the difference in the kids' behavior is amazing. :)

2) To start an exercise program. I have been dieting and I've lost about 50 lbs since I had the baby. My husband says all of that doesn't count, but I say it does. :D Anyway, the weight is coming off but I need to work on muscle tone or I'll look like a stick with baggy skin. My mom has a treadmill and I am going to start off walking for 30 min and work up to jogging.

3) To go to Mass at least 3 times a week and get back to saying our family Rosary daily. We've been slacking on that over the holidays, though we still say our bedtime prayers together.

Do you guys want to keep a kind of progress/accountability/encouragement thread to help us with our resolutions? I'm game. :)

God bless...

Sandy
