CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Usually dark, though I tried to leave the reader with the assumption that the overall outcome was good.
The one I have been trying to piece together now, already has a darkness to it. So I am not sure of how I'll have it end. Although, the wife says the plot tends to lean towards the "romance" genre.

The novelette I'm doing gets darker and darker as I go along. I just decided on a plot twist and a definite ending - and it's the most painfully tragic thing I've ever thought up.

I think the most downer ending I've ever written was when a main character leaves his homeland to avoid persecution, travels halfway across a continent, finally makes it to his destination with only half his buddies left, and joins the army of his new home... Only to find out his new country is going to war with his old one.
