  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I can't watch the actual movie yet because I'm too scared, lol, but I had to read the spoilers because it intrigues me so. ;)

So, my questions for those who have actually seen the movie, is there a connection between Mischa and Clarice? Is Hannibal's strange "love" for Clarice (later on in his life) somehow connected to his love for his little sister?

Darn... Am I the only one who saw the thread title and expected a movie about a late 3rd century BC invasion of Italy?
Yeah, I don't think there are any elephants crossing the Alps in this movie. ;)

I love the Hannibal movies (minus the gore), but I think this movie is going to be a little too much for me. The effects nowadays make gore and violence so life-like and it scares me. I have an inability to watch scary movies. I can't even explain it. It's not that I don't like it (though I don't); I just, literally, can't watch it. Crazy. I'll report back if I get the guts to go see it. ;)

I've seen the movie, and I'm not sure there is any connection between Clarice and Mischa. As for the movie itself, I didn't enjoy it. It wasn't as good as the others, thats for sure. It was kind of interesting to see a little bit of his back story, but I think it would have been better left to the imagination. :)

I read the Silence of the Lambs when it came out. I saw it featured on Larry King Live (the last 30 seconds of the interview) and I just had to read it. I had no idea what it was even about.

The movie actually lived up to the book, something few movies have done.

But the idea of sequels. They were REALLY influenced by the popularity of the Anthony Hopkins film. I just can't take them as seriously. Even though SOTL was a sequel to Red Dragon, I just think that stories that came after would have been a lot different if not for the movie.
