anyway, i have a more serious question to ask than "who esle likes them"
Their style of music is not thrash, or power metal, or any other genre of metal. But they sound like the long dead plain "Heavy Metal".

i was wondering, if any other fans think that Hammerfall could pass off as a band from the era of 'Sabbath, 'Maiden, and 'Preist?

As for my dead metal comment. Im just saying that metal is so diverse now that there are no plain Metal bands anymore, you know?

So much mainstream stuff from American bands doesn't bring up much interest nowdays, so I've been looking overseas...mainly to European bands, mainly from Scandinavia.

OhhhOhh! Templar here!! I got most of their albums and am seeing them in August with Edguy!!!!

Now to answer your questions. HammerFall has some essence of being tradtional heacy metal. But they are power metal. Trust me, power metal is my fav genre of metal.

Now metal isn't essential "dead," as even you have stated this. Real metal is all underground now, i.e. metal produced in the 90's and beyond.

wow, way to go. Its only been a year now that i've realized that bands from europe, mostly from the scandinavian region have some of the best talent and creativity i've ever heard.
But metal has left this land, and its a sad story. But! It will be back..maybe.

also, has anyone seen the Templar Renegade Crusades? (music DVD) i can't find it anywhere and listening to Magnus' Bass Solo on One Crimson Night really makes me die inside for not seeing what he's physically doing..
