  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hamas warns of deadlier attacks on Israel GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP): Hamas said Saturday it was shocked by the Arab states' decision to attend next week's Mideast peace conference in the U.S. and it underlined its opposition to talks by warning that it could soon launch a more lethal type of rocket into Israel than seen previously.
``The announcement of the Arabs that they would participate in the Annapolis conference was a great shock for the Palestinian people,'' Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri, said in a statement. ``Participation opens doors for normalization of relations with the Israeli occupiers.''
Another Hamas official warned that the violent Islamic movement was on the brink of beefing up the warheads of the rockets it regularly lobs from Gaza into Israel.
``They can be developed in a short period to create sufficient terror and fear and make the Israelis live in pain no less than what our people live through because of the repeated incursions into our villages and cities in the West Bank and Gaza,'' Ahmed Yousef, an adviser to Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, said in a statement.
Israel, which warmly welcomed Friday's Arab League decision to go to Annapolis, has repeatedly said it expects Hamas to try and wreck peace efforts.
``We take these threats very seriously,'' Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev said Saturday, in response to Yousef's comments .
