  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

no picking Grandmas flowers

bbec8787.jpg

I don't remember this (I was 4 years or less) but my mom used to tell a story that I picked flowers from a neighbor's yard to bring home to my mom. The neighbor was the president of the garden club. Now I don't know that the neighbor was upset - but my mom did punish me by sitting me in a chair.

Evidently the entire time I was in the chair I kept up a running commentary to the effect of "my daddy's going to be upset, he's not going to be happy with you, he won't like you for this"

Knowing my mom - my commentary had little to no impact on her at all. Knowing my dad - he wasn't upset with my mom at all.

As an aside - given the fact that I lived in Van Wert, Ohio (the peony capital of the world) the flowers I picked were probably the same as the ones in the above picture.

Little Yoogie's Prayer

Morning. How did the little reppies sleep in their new homes? Little yoogie drank a glass of chocolate milk and was snoozing in minutes.

He did say in his bedtime prayers that he would love a little brother and sister rep to keep him company.

I told him that there were other orphan reps that would love to have him for a brother.
