  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why should I continue living?

● I'm 34 and single
● I don't have a permanent job which means most of the year every year, I struggle with money
● I live in one room and it is moldy and damp
● I don't have a car
● Nearly all of my friends live abroad, including my best friend
● I have no idea whether or not Christians are meant to keep the Law of Moses, even after TONS of study and reading
● My mum and sister are constantly ill every single day of their lives
● I have to take and have been taking tablets every day for mental illnesses. God can't seem to heal me...
● I have a new battle in my mind against Satan concerning blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (the unforgivable sin)
● I'm lazy, procrastinate and my tablets have had an effect on my brain
● My dad left my me and my Mum when I was just a baby and I've never had a father figure in my life which I really should have had
● I'm in debt
● And I always lose my battles against Satan concerning being tempted to commit sexual sin

So, tell me, why on earth should I continue worshiping a God who has let all this happen? God's love is an absolute joke!!!!! I hate him a lot.

I've struggled with mental illness and (I believe) attacks from the Devil too. It is very important to get good help, not just from doctors, but from priests, ministers, or whoever is responsible for spiritual leadership in your denomination. Spiritual warfare is serious business. Have you tried praying the "Vade Retro Satana"?

From a Catholic perspective, "blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" can be interpreted as refusing repentance of mortal sin even unto death, and thereby refusing the grace of the Holy Spirit needed to reach Heaven. As long as you are alive, and can make a proper act of contrition, I believe repentance is possible.

As a Catholic, I believe that Christians ARE obliged to keep the Ten Commandments, but ARE NOT obliged to keep every part of the Mosaic Law, just some parts. For example, homosexual intercourse is condemned not only in Leviticus, but by St. Paul as well. This is definitely binding on Christians. On the other hand, circumcision is required by the Old (Jewish) Covenant, but NOT by the New (Christian) Covenant. St. Paul again makes this clear. I could say, to tell apart Mosaic law that is still binding from that which is no longer binding, read the Catechism of the Catholic Church, or at least pay attention to St. Paul.
