Had a wonderful monday

Took my boy deer hunting and he got his first deer and it was a buck.Was a great father and son moment.

Sad thing tho there was a big ten point buck that was living on my mothers property but it got hit by a car and the neighbor found it dead in the creek.I know a lot of people dont like hunting but I would rather someone shoot a deer and eat it then all the thousands of deer killed by vehicles and go to waste.

taking him out again today pretty cold will be interesting how long he will last

Welll congratulations to your son .. that's wonderful! I'm sure you ARE feeling like a proud papa. I can remember the first time my hubby took my son hunting, ( while I was home on pins and needles, hoping my son remembered everything he was taught about handling a rifle.) When they came home with that deer in the back of the truck, boy did we celebrate!

My hubby would LOOOVE to take Andie hunting some day....he's already got her a little rifle of some kind but I say she's too young...maybe when she's 5! lol

But we live a short distance from a canal, so they do father/daughter bonding by going fishing...she's even got her own little fishing pole!

Omygosh...do I have a funny story regarding my late uncle and aunt...

My uncle is an avid gun/rifle collector, and along with his brothers, they all hunt. (they're 1/4 Indian) My aunt, on the other hand hates guns and hunting....but out of curiousity, decided to learn how to hunt with a gun. On her first hunting trip, she shot a buck between the eyes, and my uncle, being an experienced hunter, gawped at her for making a clean kill on her first hunt. She had never been able to live it down for many years.
