CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hacking is never a good idea. Besides it's a really good way to crash your computer.. Trust me, I know. My bro used to hack stuff for games and my computer nearly crashed. So we never hack anymore.

Nothing wrong with Hacking. Perhaps it's the fact that people don't know what hacking is, that makes it seem "wrong" to most people. Well, that and hollywood's protrayal of hackers as destructive and counter-cultural anarchist. I think it's that people are just scared because they don't understand. And people don't like the idea that others can see their "stuff".
But think of it like this...if you have a house, you put up blinds or curtains, right? In the same way people can put up firewalls and such if they don't want people looking in (and should).
People shouldn't get mad if people are walking by in the cyber-world and look in thier window. It's simple curiousity...put up some mini-blinds.
On the other hand, there are people that don't just look. But I think that those issues are universal to our society and don't take much thought other than common sense.

If you're hacking your own stuff, I would think that was ok. To me, the line would be drawn if you were to attempt to gain unauthorized access to someone else's data.

Unless you have been viciously hacked by someone that has had a bad day, or disagrees with you on a subject, it's NOT FUN. I was BRUTALLY harassed and attacked by a hacker a little over a year ago, and that person is still around making my life miserable.
They need to grow up and get a life. It's totally immature and very irresponsible.
