  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hackers are really getting on my nerves. Although they have never affected me directly, I was extremely looking forward to Half-Life 2. It was going to come out much earlier, but hackers hacked into Valve's network and stole some of the programming code! Now, the game is coming out around April next year. If you know anyone that hacks, report them to the authorities. They are breaking the law and they ruin gaming.

Yeah the code got out but I don’t think it makes any difference what so ever. All closed source games get hacked and cheaters abound in the realm of multiplayer gaming. The only way to counter the cheaters is by the skill of the coders and their patches but their resources are often limited so cheating is overlooked many times over. Open source is the way to go anyway. If there is a way to cheat then a lot of people will look for ways to tweak the code so they can’t cheat any longer. The only other way of stopping cheaters is by running the game as an mmorpg subscription where it is much harder to cheat. There are a few pure PvP mmorpg’s out that are fun and I hope more get developed.

Haha. There was a time in CS when a hacker was using all the hacks known to the public. Aim bot, speed hack, gravity hack, jump hack, invisible hack, all the hacks we could think of and was just blowing the living guts out of everyone there.

it was funny for a while, then we got annoyed when he didn't stop. :(
