  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've got one guinea pig, who's usually referred to as "The Pig".

That's exactly how Cinnimen is! She used to fight over food with Zoe, and Cinnimen would win. :( So we had to seperate them in the cage.

Rache, I can't say that I've ever heard of a name of "woop woop" for his/her guniea pig. Very clever. :D

I have 3 guinea pigs:
Kevron (daddy)
Blaze (mommy)
Pickles (baby)

Kevron is redish-orange, Blaze is brown/tan/white and Pickles looks a lot like his Mama.

i have a question that i hope you GP owners can give insight into.when my daughters GP died it was over a 9 hour period of not being able to eat, then suddenly we found him dead,blood..and he was bloated.what causes this! I want to get her another but this was almost too hard to see coming. She thought it was certain lettuces she gave him..Romaine? she remains heartbroken and its been months. he was fine one day ,gone the next. GP books dont list the foods they shouldnt have,or is there one im not finding,Thanks!

did he eat anything that caused him to bloat? YES romaine is not for these animals or a few others..be careful with cabbage or onion, they cant tolerate this.we had them also and we gave them dietary alfafa once a day, very small amount(like a small handful each) this helps their digestive system. They also ingest the bedding if you leave them to hunger pangs. They gnaw at things its their nature.Im sorry she lost him.Have you gotten another? My daughter has 6!

Run a google on LVMA and go to their main site and type in the extension gpig.html (I can't post a direct link :( sry ). Check towards the bottom of the page under non-infectious diseases. The page says that the symptoms you described are related to a Vitamin C deficiency. Try supplementing the guinea pig's diet. I use GTN-50C oxbow sells it. A woman at my local zoo recommended it. She said they like the apple flavor :).
