Unfortunately, we didn't really get any posters from the other side of the issue. I notice that the tally was 18-for, 0-against.
I figured we'd at least get a few that would bring some new discussion points to the table.
Actually, I'm not surprised.
Since women are more vulnerable to attack (due to physical reasons), I would expect that.
I don't think owning gun is wrong in anyway. I've had over 120 hours of in class training on gun safety and gun laws, and countless hours of practice on the range. I've never had an accidental discharge of any kind.
Do you think there's anything wrong with gun ownership?
Guns are bad.
Why are guns bad?
In relation to the OP, I think gun control boils down to one question: "Is society perfectable?" If it is, gun control should be in place, and all weapons should be destroyed to perfect humanity. If it isn't, then everyone should have a gun, as no one can be perfect, and we will always have gun problems. Better to have a defense in this situation.
They are a tool. When that tool is used properly, people are killed and maimed in horrible ways.
What fi they are used for recreation? Hunting? Are they not "tools" in those areas as well? Their purpose is not for murder alone.
I guess I would wonder what else they could be intended for? Most likely the intention behind their design is efficient effective killing or I would want my money back. I believe target shooting was developed i order to practice being a more effective shooter of people and animals but mostly people.

No one has ever said "killing more people lessens killing." We have said that killing one criminal may be necessary to save many honest and innocent civilians. It's a fantasy to think killing more people lessens killing
