A few dollars a month for a safety trained owner who secures his firearms. Probably rolled into your gun club dues or NRA membership. If you can't afford that, how did you afford to buy guns in the first place?
A few dollars for how much liability?

With the shooting death of a healthcare CEO potentially rattling the secure feelings of the 1%, and with some pretty...over the top images of deference to the shooter online could we expect copycats?

And if copycats do start do you expect gun reform or so you believe the status quo would be maintained?

Keeping in mind there's been over 1700 school shootings in the last 8 years with over 400 children dead in that time.

In America, achieving effective gun control measures that could reduce gun violence or mass shootings may require a cultural shift.

Conservative view gun ownership as a deeply ingrained aspect of their lifestyle and identity, and they perceive discussions about gun restrictions as an attack on their way of life.

In opposition, liberals believe gun owner are more interested on protecting guns then protecting human lives.

The phrase "guns don't kill people, people kill people" is often debated. Conservative believe it emphasizes personal responsibility, while others argue it oversimplifies the issue of gun violence.

Until we see gun as object and not an identity, we will never have meaningful gun laws which can reduce gun violence.

Infringing on the law abiding cannot possibly reduce criminal activity

Blaming victims of gun theft, claiming it was their fault for not having more expensive storage, cannot be as effective as increasing the penalties for gun theft

Punish the thieves, not their victims. Don't say that they were just asking for it.

(Why would anyone steal firearms? What purpose would they have in mind for the gun tied to someone else's name? So, how serious is gun theft? So, increase the penalties for gun theft ? Make gun theft an automatic high grade felony?)

There's an 1868 Supreme Court ruling that says mileage taxes infringe on the Constitutionally enshrined human right to freedom of travel. Fees and taxes for exercising human rights is infringement. Poll taxes? Education requirements to vote? To speak? To post on the Internet?
  • Taxes are for the public good
  • Gun safety training and safe storage is a public good?
  • Then give full 100% tax credits for investing in training, memberships, safe storage, insurance, so on
Why not?

Trucks are a very good weapon. Let's ban trucks. Training, proper storage and liability insurance doesn't strop deaths by intentionally driving through crowded streets. Even criminals can buy trucks without restrictions.

Or we could treat firearms like trucks and at least register where each one is supposed to be located?

You want the government to pay for your (ir)responsibility with firearms? How conservative of you.

It already takes a lot of paperwork and a background check to purchase a firearm. The government has your name, address and a full page of personal details for every gun purchase including the specific firearm you purchased.

The trucks used in the most recent terror attacks were rented. They traveled long distances and still managed to kill people.

Only if you buy a gun from a licensed dealer. The laws on private sales, however, vary by state.

Actually, private sales are overblown. Even at gun shows, private sales follow the same permitting and background checks that retail outlets must follow.

The ATF is very aggressive with "private sales" forcing individuals to either qualify for a sellers permit or have the sales go through a company that has dealer's permit.

No gun laws will ever hinder what criminals will do.

Bottom line, the 2nd Amendment pertains to self-defence and against tyranny of government. Look at all of the things the current administration has done in just four years with their abuse of the justice systems at all levels of government. Thank goodness for the recent election.

Consider the persecution of churches and christians as well.

We need our privately owned forearms, how else can we protect ourselves if someone kicks in our door in the middle of the night?

They are registered.

"As of January 1, 2019, seven states and the District of Columbia required individuals to register their ownership of certain firearms with local law enforcement agencies. Another nine states explicitly prohibited the creation of such registries. The remaining states neither required registration of firearms nor prohibited the creation of registries in the future. See the map and table below for further information"

My state does not register guns.

Don't you know that by defending yourself in that situation you are inviting the cops to shoot you?
