You are, as usual, making things up. I never claimed any such thing and you know it.But then you claim that all the negative news on the conomy no matter what is solely Trumps fault. You can't have it both ways.
Ok I must have got you mixed up with another poster because that has certainly been the claim from many on the Left. So are you acknowledging that Trump is a good economic manager. You are, as usual, making things up. I never claimed any such thing and you know it.
I'm not sure what this about. I can't be the topic of the thread since it wasn't company management or "Left" that had anything to do with his trial and conviction, just faking some records to cover up something unsavory. As an economic manager Trump is rather mediocre. He managed to turn his inheritance into slightly less money than it would be if invested in a broad stock market index fund.Ok I must have got you mixed up with another poster because that has certainly been the claim from many on the Left. Why would I have to do that?Ok I must have got you mixed up with another poster because that has certainly been the claim from many on the Left. So are you acknowledging that Trump is a good economic manager.
Well I think this thread has jumped all over the place, even trans was mentioned I think. But as I said we can agree that Trumps a felon though I disgree that he was treated fairly in persuit of that end. But nevertheless what else is there to discuss.I'm not sure what this about. I think we can all agree Trump has had much more real life business experience. He has to have gained vast knowledge regardless of his success or failures. Put it this way I think he has more experience than most careerr politicians. As an economic manager Trump is rather mediocre. He managed to turn his inheritance into slightly less money than it would be if invested in a broad stock market index fund.
The NY trial of Trump was big news. A thread on the verdict is just that. No need to drag it off topic.Well I think this thread has jumped all over the place, even trans was mentioned I think. Obviously the reasonthe thread was made was to undermine Trump, a political attack on his credibility. That opens the door to all related issues of credibility for both sides. So economics is part of that.
Government is not a business.I think we can all agree Trump has had much more real life business experience. He has to have gained vast knowledge regardless of his success or failures. Put it this way I think he has more experience than most careerr politicians.
We don't want to talk about financial management. This thread has played out and should end.I mean if we want to talk about poor financial management I think most governments have done badly because when it comes to politics and staying in power logic and common sense goes out the window and theres all sorts of people wanting money or others trying to buy power and influence.
Sigh. Let it be.But at I think Trump is at least different, more street wise and in touch with the common person on the street. Not that this always makes a good politician.
No. I make no statement about his qualifications as an economic manager. Even if I thought he was a bad economic manager I know better to say that all the negative news about the economy is his fault. Because the President really has very little control over the economy, despite people wishing he did.I don't know, thats why I was asking lol. So your saying he is a bad economic manager.
Ok well that makes for a short thread. I think I have already commented on his trial and verdict and had a few exchanges so I guess that's it for me lol.The NY trial of Trump was big news. A thread on the verdict is just that. No need to drag it off topic.
No but we would hope that they at least good financial managers. Its our money afterall. I understand that welfare is not a profit making service. But there are many areas even welfare where money is wasted.Government is not a business.
I am not sure about that. If you read the OP its not just talking about the trial and verdict. It also challenges people to give reasons why Trump is the best candidate to be president. That steps well beyond the trial. So really everything about Trump's credibility as president in light of his conviction is on the table. We don't want to talk about financial management. This thread has played out and should end.
Hey I like that song. Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be whisper words of wisdom, let it be.Sigh. Let it be.
I guess he represents the party and the voters take it out on the party. But its interesting that now it seems to be all about the identity and personality of the candidates. Its not about nobel service to the people but identity politics.No. I make no statement about his qualifications as an economic manager.
Even if I thought he was a bad economic manager I know better to say that all the negative news about the economy is his fault. Because the President really has very little control over the economy, despite people wishing he did.
It wasn't a song reference, Steve. It was a friendly suggestion. Let this be.Hey I like that song. Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
It hasn't. If inflation is 10% then the cost of living has risen by 1/10. If the rate of inflation rises to 30% then the cost of living hasn't tripled. It's now risen by 2/10 or 20%. If the cost of living has trippled then it would be an increase of 300%.No I said the cost of living has trippled.
Basically I was meaning that the cost of living has gone up nearly 3 times faster than it had on average the previous 5 years before Covid. Instead of only being around 2.2% and hardly going up at all over that period it went to to 6.5% nearly 3 times the rate of cost of living increases. It hasn't. Basic maths. Going from 20% or 30% to 300% isn't hyperbole. It's simply wrong.
Now you should check out how much wages rose in the same time period.Basically I was meaning that the cost of living has gone up nearly 3 times faster than it had on average the previous 5 years before Covid. Instead of only being around 2.2% and hardly going up at all over that period it went to to 6.5% nearly 3 times the rate of cost of living increases.
Nevertheless no matter how you look at it there was a big increase in the cost of living and people suffered and that is one of the big motivating factors why people don't see the Biden administration as a safe option when it comes to economic management despite the improvements in the economy.
That would be terrible. Steve would be better off learning what the real cause is, rather than mindlessly blaming "The Left."Will it be a good thing when everyone makes more money but a loaf of bread is $100?
When I wore a younger man's clothes a beer cost 15c. It seemed expensive as I was earning less than ten bucks a week. Now that beer is closer to $10. I'm not going to tell you what I'm worth now, but the beer is now a lot more affordable. Will it be a good thing when everyone makes more money but a loaf of bread is $100?
The key word is everyone. That’s the problem. There are too many people it’s not happening for. When I wore a younger man's clothes a beer cost 15c. It seemed expensive as I was earning less than ten bucks a week. Now that beer is closer to $10. I'm not going to tell you what I'm worth now, but the beer is now a lot more affordable.
So yeah, if everyone's wages rises faster than the cost of goods then they're all ahead of the curve.
