I've done a few of their weekend beta events and it is a fun game. It seems to be much more focused on PvP and much less on spending countless hours leveling. It has great graphics and if I had to compare the PvE part of the game to anything, it really feels like Diablo II in a fully rendered 3D enviroment.

I thought it was an instanced MMOG like Phantasy Star Online, rather than a persistent world game like EQ or City of Heroes.

How does the server/client system work for GW? Does the game maker have servers set up for play or does someone have to host a game?

The game maker has servers set up to play. And it is kinda a mixture between the two styles. The towns and the PvP arena are persistent, but when you embark on quests it's just you and your party in that particular area. There may be 35 different parties doing the same quest as you, but the way the game is set up none of you have to share the area or wait for another group to finish.

Oooooo, that does sound interesting. I'll have to give it a try sometime in 2008 when I finally get to build a new PC for gaming. :D
