[Dust and Ashes]

Anyone playing this who can answer some questions about it? The screens look great but I'm not sure if the concept is for me or not based on what I've read on the site.

1. Does it take place in a persistent world or is it largely instanced like Phantasy Star Online?

2. Is there solo content and can you do solo missions while looking for groups? What if you just feel like playing for a while by yourself?

3. What is the reward system like? From what I can read on the site, it seems like "levelling" isn't really a part of the game.

4. In what type of world does it take place? Classic fantasy, scifi, or what?

Fantasy world. Instanced like Phantasy. You level to the highest level within a week, so leveling isnt a big part of the game(its intended to be like that to keep PvP fair). Yes Solo content, in fact, the first mission is solo'd. Have any more questions? Ive played all the events and have the game preordered. www.Guildwars.com for the client, and http://www.fileplanet.com/betacenter/guildwars/ for the key. You need the key to play when the beta event comes up Jan 6th-8th. This game is 50/50 in concern of PvP and PvE. Its got a great huge Instanced world, and between the missions are great explorable areas. (Basically the entire GW world/map is explorable). Ill say this, they did a great job with PvP and PvE, this games my favorite. I especially love how at any time you can access the world map and immediately appear at any marked location on the map (such as pre-mission areas and towns). Great game...really great game.


Oh btw, since PvP is equal in content to PvE, you can bet that they did a GREAT job with PvP. You got randomized 4 player Gladiator Arena battles, 8 player organized teams playing in up to 6 team battle free for all, then you got guild wars. You and your guildmates team up and do a special guild war where both teams have a castle and try to kill the other teams Guild Lord in the enemys castle. The more you win in guild battles the higher you go up in rank (my guild got up to 35th place in the top 1000 guilds ladder). You gain experience in PvP just like in PvE, and since the cap is an early lvl 20, and since there is no godly items, everyone is pretty much equal, and its entirely based on strategy in PvP. Rewards in Non-Guild PvP include Fame, which dictates which type of Staff you have in non-battle areas(shows how good you are), and in the 8 player organized team the best team after so many wins gains access to the Hall of Heroes, a special golden arena where you battle in order to hold the Hall of Heroes for your team, and after winning gaining special items. Man theres so much...dahhhhh go to the event and see for yourself its so awesome! This game is just gorgeous btw.

Sounds like a great game. Just not for me. I prefer a persistent world with more PvE. Those screens look sweet though and thanks for all the info and the link.
