I'm (sorta) a C programmer. I work mostly on Linux, but I have done some Windows programming. I haven't done much GUI stuff, but I'm intrested in doing some. I'm looking for a well documented (GTK++ 2 wasn't last time I checks) GUI toolkit, perferably cross platform. Any suggestions? I've looked at GTK a little, I've heard some about wxWindows, but I haven't tried it.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Blah Java... Slow and bulky... It won't even run at all on my laptop (166mhz 64mb or ram) and it runs pretty slowly on my 566mhx computer. Anyone wanna buy me a new computer <grin> Anyway, I'll check out wxWindows... Any books on it? I guess I'll check amazon.

Arg... "An open source C++ GUI framework to make cross-platform programming child's play. Well, almost." No C++ knowalge here... Anyone know of any C toolkits other than GTK, or am I stuck learning GTKor X or the Windows API?
