hey everyone! just want to remind everyone who's in the U.S. to vote today!!! only 1 of 4 christians voted in the 2000 election.. GO VOTE!!!! I know this is in the singles forum, but there's another statistic that says single women are waaaaay less likely to vote so i'm posting this here. people died for our right to vote - go do it!!!!!!!!! call now and find out where to go. that's it.. i'm off my soapbox. thanks!

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm planning on voting; however, I was looking online for my new polling precinct (since they switched them this year) and it said my voter registration status is "inactive" so I have no clue if they have deleted me from the system yet because all of the county offices are closed. I pray I will be able to vote *cries*

Go and try to vote...take your driver's license and your old registration card if you have it and head to the poles! They will tell you there whether you can vote or not. The internet could have been wrong and sometimes they will go ahead and let you vote anyway if you are eligible. It's really important to get out and vote! I voted early for Bush.

I got to vote! Yay! Praise God. Now we should all be in serious prayer as the votes are tallied and we find out who will lead our country. I think most of us would agree who we feel God would want to be President. I also had the privilege of voting in support of our State Marriage Amendment.

LOL chickenfeet. I got a sticker and a Tootsie Roll. But I didn't have to wait in the rain this year since they moved my precinct from the tiny community beach house to a local mega-church fellowship hall you can wait indoors. I got right in though. In and out. w00t!

I'm leaving work early to vote. I'll be so glad when this election is over. I'm so tired of all the automated phone calls (Rev. Jesse Jackson even called me the other night and I didn't know he had my number!!) and all the ads on TV, and all the tacky signs all over town.
I'm very thankful to have the right to vote though!

The funny thing was, there were a couple of really pregnant ladies in line, and the people in charge let them go to the front on the line. One of the ladies was in labor!
Now, that's dedication to democracy!

Well congraulations first of all mod. But also let me give you some advice. First and foremost just because you are a mod, please don't let the "mod" part go through your head. Second always stay the same sweet gal but I am sure you will as you always will because you do. Third be honest, polite, fair, but if there are any "lawbreakers", step in and in a loving and Christian way, be friendly but frank and firm.
But we will be here for you and right by your side. No matter what happens. Or if you come across any "enemies"(Let's hope you don't come across any of those at all!). I tried to time my voting somewhat intelligently, but apparently, a ton of people had the same idea. Didn't work so well for me.
That IS a nice platform! I think you should go for it!
