  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Post a quote with a catagory such as movie or book. Then others can guess what movie or book the quote is from.
Hopefully there isnt already a thread like this.

Example:

Answer: Aristocats

I don't think another hint or quote would help if no one saw the movie. I was going to edit the op to add that anyone can post a quote before the one above is guessed. But cf no longer allows editing posts from a few days ago.

Ok- I'll throw out another quote.

"It reads, "And death shall be no more" comma "death, thou shalt die." Nothing but a breath, a comma separates life from life everlasting. Very simple, really. With the original punctuation restored Death is no longer something to act out on a stage with exclamation marks. It is a comma. A pause. In this way, the uncompromising way one learns something from the poem, wouldn't you say? Life, death, soul, God, past present. Not insuperable barriers. Not semi-colons. Just a comma.

The Labyrinth! I didn't Google. David Bowie was strangely sexy in that movie.

I would say the Bible, "O Death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"

Even a comma is a barrier, though. It separates. The comma separates and distinguishes between things more than an exclamation point ever could. The exclamation point is not a separater, it is an emphasizer.

Death! Thou shalt die!

It gets Death's attention.

You didn't put a comma between past and present. Those two are inseperable in your sentence- but everything else is separated by a comma.

A semicolon says "hold on, something else is coming."

What is the poem if it is not from the Bible?

the man with the power.

My fave line is Nothing, nothing tra la la
No, it is "what man?"
Then: "the man with the power"
Then: "what power?"
Then: "the power of voodoo"
Then: "who do?"
Then: "you do"
Then: "you remind me of the man"

She and I would do this back and forth. We thought we were insanely funny.

I don't remember "Nothing, nothing, tra la la."
