Grounded In The Truth
My Mom called me the other day. She was somewhat excited and told me that the Lord had just showed her something with a power cord, she said it had to do with the trinity, and the three prongs on the cord. But then she couldn't remember what it was, so she could share it with me. Then she told me, oh just ask him he'll show you himself!
Before she even finished speaking, He had already shown me what it was. I thought it might be well worth sharing here.
You most likely have noticed that alot of power cords come with three prongs, two prongs that provide power when plugged in, one prong is a safety feature that grounds whatever it is you plug into a power source. It's ment to protect you from the risk of electrical shock, and also from fire.
Just as a power cord has three prongs we also have The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is sort of like that third grounding prong on the electrical cord. It's there for our safety, to bring us understanding, guide and teach us as we read the Word of God, to lead us in the light of the truth, so that we don't have to rely on the teachings of others. It's when we rely on the teaching of others instead of the Holy Ghost that we risk being led astray and risk being burned by fire.
John
14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Luke
11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
So as we plug ourselves into the Word of God, by reading, and studying it. Let us also pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So that we may be safely grounded in the truth.
