Grounded In The Truth

My Mom called me the other day. She was somewhat excited and told me that the Lord had just showed her something with a power cord, she said it had to do with the trinity, and the three prongs on the cord. But then she couldn't remember what it was, so she could share it with me. Then she told me, oh just ask him he'll show you himself!

Before she even finished speaking, He had already shown me what it was. I thought it might be well worth sharing here.

You most likely have noticed that alot of power cords come with three prongs, two prongs that provide power when plugged in, one prong is a safety feature that grounds whatever it is you plug into a power source. It's ment to protect you from the risk of electrical shock, and also from fire.

Just as a power cord has three prongs we also have The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is sort of like that third grounding prong on the electrical cord. It's there for our safety, to bring us understanding, guide and teach us as we read the Word of God, to lead us in the light of the truth, so that we don't have to rely on the teachings of others. It's when we rely on the teaching of others instead of the Holy Ghost that we risk being led astray and risk being burned by fire.

John
14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Luke
11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

So as we plug ourselves into the Word of God, by reading, and studying it. Let us also pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So that we may be safely grounded in the truth.

Good work GMI! I love this. Here is a couple more verses that have to do with being Grounded!

Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Colossians 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Thanks Gerry! those are excellent verses :) There's no doubt in my mind that the Holy Spirit had you add those. I just love the way the Holy Spirit works within, and through us.

Amen! Glory to God! The working of the Holy Spirit is always and unceasingly amazing to me. Sometimes I physically shudder to see Him move. What Joy God gives us, even here on this Earth, and in the simplest of things.

How I love to watch Him move when I am speaking to someone about Jesus. So often I think of the young girl I led to Jesus last summer on a car lot. She had her head down, and when I said to her: "Ya know how hard your heart is beating right now? And that squeezing, tugging, feeling you have around your heart right now?" I remember how she looked up at me with big tear filled eyes, and said "How you know that?" And when I told her it was the Holy Spirit confirming to her the Truth she was hearing, she melted and opened her heart to Jesus then and there.

How awesome to watch the Holy Spirit working!
