I don't know- it's not looking good. And the preview for next week called it a "devastating conclusion". That doesn't sound like she makes it. I mean, they'd lose a ton of viewers if they killed off the main character, and really, they couldn't continue it and still call it "Grey's Anatomy". I'm thinking that if they kill her, they'll end the show. With all the scandal surrounding the horrible things that Isaiah Washington (Dr. Burke) said to T.R. Knight (George), rumors that Knight might leave the show, I wouldn't be surprised.

According to various sources, there are 2 deaths coming up. I hope they aren't going to do the dead-chick voice over thing. I might have to stop watching.

My theory: Meredith dies (as she did tonight) but will be brought back withing the first few minutes of next weeks episode. Or, she'll get brought back at the end, but they'll make the storyline such that only a few minutes has gone by from the time that she flatlined until she wakes up. Of course, that leaves the problem of her having been under water for 30 minutes and blue for another 30 after that before they showed the flatline. I don't know.... How can they come back from that? I mean, how long after your heart stops beating can you still be resusitated ??

As for the other death- I'm thinking it will be someone that will effect the cast, but won't be the cast. Maybe Meredith's mom? Meredith will end up in some kind of coma and there can be all these "how do we tell her about her mom?" conversations. Or, they pass each other in the afterlife, have a heart to heart, and then Meredith comes back.

THEY CAN'T KILL HER!!!!

They aren't ending the show. March 14 is either the first or last of a two part season finale. They would tell us if it was the series finale. So, they aren't ending the show. And, they can't continue it without the Grey of "Grey's Anatomy". So, that settles it. She lives.

I dunno. Gena Davis's show had a "season finale" and then never came back. Same with Judging Amy. What is it about strong female leads that they don't like? *insert angry face here*

They didn't have a real finale, though. Those shows were canceled. When a show is very popular, they plan it, they build for it, they wrap up everyones lives, they warn us. They don't just take it away. RIGHT!?!?

Anyway, I found one poll that asks if you think Meredith is dreaming it. Maybe she is dreaming it.

you think meredith is dreaming what? her NDE? the whole ferry accident? what? lol......

I don't know. I can't make that work so I guess I don't think she's dreaming. Although, if she were dreaming, seeing Denny and that cop would make sense. Think about how many people have died in that hospital, but she sees the two that effected her the most. Why? Maybe because it's happening in her head.

Anyway, however they make it work, they can't kill her. I've been scouring the internet and there aren't even whispers of a rumor that she is leaving the show. I don't think they could keep Meredith Grey leaving the show named for her character off the internet.

Did it tick anyone else off that she flatlined and all of those doctors stood there with their mouths open not doing anything??

I might be a bit too emotionally invested in this show.....

yeah, it's a very emotional show for sure.......

I think a lot of stuff on that show is realistic - and I know that they have medical advisors that tell them what is and isn't possible - and they do what is medically possible - that's why I don't know how they can work this out.

What I thought was unrealistic was how many doctors were working on MG when there was a disaster going on with many many many people needing medical attention.....

Yeah. I thought that was unrealistic, too. As well as all of her friends getting beeped. That doesn't seem like it would happen anyway, but in a disaster like that I wouldn't think it would happen at all.

I have to admit that I had never watched an episode of Grey's Anatomy until last week (2/8) when "forced" to by my sister, but now I'm hooked!

So, like I said, I'm not super into and up to date on the show, but if it's named after the drowning girl (Meredith, I guess?) I doubt they could get rid of her. Maybe a large portion of the next season will be on her recovery, if she goes into a coma etc... I'm definitely hooked and have already set the DVR to record next week's episode!

...I will not stop watching even if they kill off Meredith...was good to see Denny again though. I'm glad they are veering away from what is expected although I really don't think she will actually die. I'm a fan regardless!!! Love the show!

Well, on Dallas, they did en entire season of Bobby dreaming!!

The series finale of Newhart was a somewhat normal episode, but at the end he sat up in bed and told his wife he had the weirdest dream. When his wife sat up, it was the woman who played his wife in The Bob Newhart Show. All of Newhart was a dream!

That was, hands down, the most brilliant series finale EVER!

I also thought the show was named after Ellis Grey, not Meredith.

I suppose it could be but with Meredith doing the voice over in the beginning and end of the episodes and Ellis being a basically unnecessary character, it seems unlikely. I always thought it was named for Meredith.

...I will not stop watching even if they kill off Meredith...was good to see Denny again though. I'm glad they are veering away from what is expected although I really don't think she will actually die. I'm a fan regardless!!! Love the show!

I would still watch it if they killed Meredith. BUT, if they do the dead-chick voice over thing I won't watch it. Desperate Housewives owns the dead-chick voice over thing. Anyone else doing it would be cheap.
