  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You realize that a lot of modern bands that have been reveloutionary dont make top ten bands in a lot of radio countdown like Blink 182 (they have a lot of great songs and really redefined punk rock)
Redefined punk rock? They're not even punk!

Blink-182 didn't redefine anything (except their own personal style when they started delving into Neo Post-Punk). They just made Pop-Punk more popular than it already was, and that was almost 5 years after most in the Melodic Punk circle (and Billboard's Modern and Alternative Rock Charts) had already heard of them.

Ifle 65 (I didnt like blue but is was toping the chart for over 2 Months)
Eiffel 65 really isn't influential. It's a great album, yes (admittedly I do have the album, and there are songs on it that are annoying, but there are a few really great songs on it as well, that aren't "Blue"; I actually think this album is one of the most underappreciated in the last six years because of how much people trashed them over "Blue", which is not at all the best song on the album), but they didn't change anything. There were a million other bands that they sound like that existed before and after them. Listen to a lot of Depeche Mode and then turn on "Your Clown", and you'll see what I mean.

Eve 6 (really good underground groop Made some big leeps in the Emo music biz right out of high school)
Eve 6 doesn't perform Emo. Not at all. "Inside Out" isn't Emo. The entirety of the Horrorscope album isn't anywhere near Emo. "Think Twice", "Hokis", and the cover of "You Really Got Me" aren't Emo either. I would hardly say they were 'underground' as well. They've been hitting the rock and pop charts since their debut came out, and RCA signed them before they even left high school.

Echoes with the sounds of salesmen. OF SALESMEN" hehe

^thats the best part of the song

Nah... With or Without You is better. You guys should stop being wrong so much, seriously. You'll get no chicks that way.

:p

You'd be surprised. ;)

Actually, I think "With or Without You" is a better song. I normally skip that particular Beatles tune. I love the sitar, but I can only take so much of it. :sorry:

Bah humbug, you and your relativity.

I'm telling you, it makes everything so much easier, and makes for much less hostile disagreements. Of course, it takes away the fun of being a music elitist know-it-all (which is really fun sometimes, I admit), but I tend to think that's a good thing :)
