Greatest Fear

The thing that everyone fears
that everyone tries to avoid
the truth is no one can escape
the feeling of darkness that
could creep up on you when you
least expect it or when you know that
you can't escape. All of the energy
leaves your body. You panic
and may start to cry.
Why should this happen to you?
No one can
tell exactly when it will happen.
From the youngest child
to the oldest man
it is certain that it will come
to claim you.
It may hit you while you sleep
It may hit you anytime, anyplace.
The one thing you can't control.
The only thing you will
hope avoids you forever.
Why must people
be in denial of the obvious
After it hits you all you can
expect is eternal slumber
under the ground.

I wrote this in school during lunch. Is it any good?

Wow- I think that's good. It's true- a lot of people are uncomfortable discussing death. I feel as if death is good for the person that dies and can be difficult for those left behind.
