I recently watched the movie "Love Actually." Just this week. Let me just say that this is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Yes yes, i know its rated r for nudity and language, but this movie was beautiful. Hopefully this post can be for some people that have already seen the movie.

This movie really made me think about love. I found myself during the movie comparing to all the characters. After the movie I wanted to call my parents and brother and just tell them that I love them. Its set in Christmas time so it would be a good one to get for Christmas to get you in the mood.

Anywho, this movie was amazing. Anyone else see it? anyone else touched?

Hi there

I love that movie too! I loved the clips at both the beginning and end of the movie where they had people at the arrival gates at Heathrow....thats when I was most tempted to cry! I'm too soppy for my own good!

Love, actually, is all around....I'm going to start singing now...

Awesome movie. I loved the bookend. Starting the movie at the airport and ending it there. Was a nice summation of the movie's theme.

The story between the writer and the Portuguese housesitter and the Prime Minister and his secretary were my favorite.

And the loser English dude and his sex tour to the U.S., the funniest.

LOVED this movie....could've done without the language and rather "odd" nudity (some of you who've seen it know which two people I'm talking about), though, but still a must-see.

Slight and really insignificant spoilers: don't read further if you haven't seen it! Don't read any further...turn back, turn back before it's too late!

I laughed SO hard at probably the silliest thing, but hurt my stomach nonetheless....that little girl sitting between the "Prime Minister" and girlfriend in the backseat of that car! She's an Octopus???? For some reason, I could not stop laughing & didn't even catch the dialogue because that kid stole the whole scene for me. I also LOVED that little boy with Liam Neeson - what a punkin!

Secondly, I like how the "loose" women were in WISCONSIN?? I beg your pardon? Not! We Wisconsinites are not THAT bold - I mean, we ARE beautiful, but really rather shy here in the Midwest. ;)

(bigger spoiler....if you snuck a peak...definitely don't read further down)

Lastly, my husband thought the rock singer was really trying to say he was gay at the end because he told the other man he loved him??? LOL! (My husband is usually more intelligent than I am, but sometimes not the sharpest knife in the drawer!) He finally figured out that it was in the "Sam and Frodo" way he loved him - BEST FRIENDS!

Thank you for the glowing review. I've been telling my husband that I want to see this one since it was out in the theaters. And now that it's on DVD, I'm still telling him that I would like to see it. He doesn't seem to be interested in it at all. I think he thinks it's a "chick flick".

Oh well, maybe I'll just buy it and watch it by myself. :sigh:

Ill told a buddy of mine that I wanted to go see it, and he laughed and me cause he said I wanted to see a "chick flic". But this is in no way a chick flick. It is a romantic comedy which most of those are chick flicks, but I would not classify this movie as one.

Still days after I have seen the movie, my mind is still enthralled at the idea of love. I'm telling you its beautiful. Sons get ready to call your parents just to say I love you. Wives get ready to make beautiful love with your husband. Friends get ready to think of how blessed you are to have one another. This movie is amazing!

i saw it in the cinemas and ended up walking out... it's very sexual, tonnes of language and nudity... i suppose i have different standards to everyone else...

Roo,

Nothing wrong with that, but I have to ask - were you with a parent? After all, it is rated "R?"? I did not allow my teenage son see it because of the "R" rating.

To be honest with you, I thought to myself afterwards - boy, it will be truly a PERFECT movie when they put it on regular tv & edit out the language and nudity. NOT that I'm into censorship, because I can't call myself an American if I was. As a Christian, it truly is a wonderful, heartwarming movie despite the whole combined 10 minutes or so of nudity and language. I know there is a controversial company that sells "edited" DVD's that, and take the harsh language & sexual scenes out of otherwise wonderful movies!

Edited to add: Oh, I just saw that you're in Austrailia - can you see movies like this without a parent? (Here in the states, it was rated "R" for no one under 17 without a parent). Just curious.

i loved that movie..it really put my realtionship that i was in at that moment in perspective...i do think that the all the nudity was not needed..not that i am a prude, the human body is a beautiful and deserves to be shown off, but i was a little uncomfortable, because i went to go see it in a budget movie theater with my now boyfriend, and it made it wierd, but he loved the movie too! i think i might watch that tonight...hmm good idea

actually here it was only rated M, which means parental guidance recommended for under 15, which is the equivalent to americas PG13 (in most cases i think...) so i wasn't expecting it to be that bad. i should really have looked up what it was m for though... i only knew it was m, not what it was m for. and no, i wasn't with a parent. had it been rated MA15+ i would definitely have checked up on it first.

The language wasn't that awful, those words are just those in areas in Britain... words. The nudity was funny, their part in the whole story was so cute. It showed how shy they really were, and they only did their 'job' because they needed money. I thought it was a hillareous movie, I'm getting it on DVD when the price comes down! 'About A Boy' is a similar, and also very funny Brit Flick.
