  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am happy and sad at the same time. My baby, 18 yo ds will graduate from high school today. He is planning to go to the Junior College in the fall to get a certificate in Pharmacy Tech. I can't believe he is actually finishing one phase. In the last four years I don't know if I realized this day would come.

Congratulations to you then on a job well done for this first leg of your parenting journey!

My first baby turns 18 in November---he is a junior this year and we are visiting colleges.. what an amazing turn of events in life.

When they are babies so many older people tell you, "they grow so fast"; it was irritating. then one day you are looking at them walk around a college campus and you think,
"man, they grow so fast....."

Congrats!! We are just at the beginning of the school journey. Our oldest just turned 5. We're afraid our oldest will have academic problems and our youngest will have discipline problems. It seems like such a long road ahead. When they had senior recogntion day at our church recently I turned to DH and said, "Do you think we'll make it to graduation?" :prayer: ;) Seems like you did a good job!!

Congrats to you & your son! What a wonderful accomplishment! I remember when my own left home to persue their own lives. Such a mixture of happiness & sadness!
