Hi Everyone, I am an USAF Mom who just got back from Lackland AFB and just experienced the best 4 days of my life. My 17 year old graduated from Basic Military Training on Friday, March 31st. The whole experience was just totally awesome--the airman run, retreat, parade & graduation and on Sat., he got a town pass and we got to go to Seaworld in San Antonio. His BMT was 6 1/2 weeks and it's amazing the changes that can be made in that time span both physically and mentally. I'm just so very proud of him.

I just want to say how much respect and gratitude I have for all the military and their families. Thank you each and every one from the bottom of my heart.

You are all in my prayers daily

Blessings

lol, Bill. My husband is in the USAF, I didnt get to go to his graduation because we werent sure if he was going to gradute. Needless to say I was/am very proud of him. He had a HARD time in BMT because it was his first time away from home. NOW, he is a SENIOR AIRMAN, the first Airman in his flight that got a promotion 6 months early. He really deserved it as well. Anyway, thanks to all the military that sacarfice their lives for us. God Bless you and may He bring you all home safely.

My fiancee will be leaving June 20th for Basic Training, I can't wait to go to his graduation at Lackland. :)

You are in for such a treat! That was one of, if not the best weeks of my life! It's incredible the change for good and San Antonio is so much fun--the Riverwalk, alamo and we went to sea world and they get in free!! It's really cool too because they have to wear their dress blues and all kinds of people come up and thank them and congradulate them. Have a wonderful time and congrats to your soon to be airman!!! I wish him well and appreciate his service!

My son is still at Lakland Air force base but will be leaving on Monday for Sheppard Air force base. It is somewhere in Texas. I think he said an 8 hour bus ride. He'll be in tech school there for fuels. Does anyone know anything about that job?

I have about a year left to get in shape before I leave for Basic. Situps and pushups everyday, plus some long distance running mixed in.

I'm so very excited to be part of the USAF.
Hi Everyone, It's been awhile since I've visited this site but wanted to update everyone on my sons situation. He just graduated from tech school July 29th and came home July 31st and will be here till Aug 16th and then leave for Okinawa, Japan for 2 years. He looks and sounds great! Does anyone here have experience with Okinawa in the Air force? Will I be able to visit? I know I'll miss him lots but I'm so grateful for the opportunities and the growth that the air force has given him. I wish everyone the best in all services and appreciate so very much your service!
