Grace is from the Greek word charis, and means free gift.
To me it is God's free and liberal gift of everything that I do not deserve.

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, (Titus 2:11, 12 NKJV)
Grace is Gods power giving us His ability to live godly lives on this earth !!!

"For the grace of God" -- His free gift to us...
"that brings salvation" -- salvation is a free gift, not earned...
"has appeared to all men" -- some can say "elect" but that twists the Word, for it clearly says and means to ALL men...
"teaching us that" -- all men are exhorted...
"denying ungodliness and worldly lusts" -- ...to deny self and accept the free gift that is offered -- it isn't some irrepresible thing offered to some, but a free choice offered to all...
"we should live soberly, righteously, and godly" -- ...and when we accept, because of God's irresistable love, we will be sanctified and will have the free choice ability to live as described...
"in the present age" -- and we can do it here and now with our perfected spirit guiding our soul controlling our flesh. And being a free choice, our flesh sometimes leads our soul astray and into sin in a war against a spirit that cannot sin.

I once heard the following definitions of Grace and Mercy.
Grace - "Getting what I don't deserve."
Mercy - "NOT getting what I DO deserve."
That spoke to me when I first heard it.

My favorite verse on the Subject is Romans 6:14.
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. (Romans 6:14 NKJV)
For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of Gods favor and mercy]. (Romans 6:14 AMP)
Sin can't tell you how to live. After all, you're not living under that old tyranny any longer. You're living in the freedom of God. (Romans 6:14 MSG)

The Grace of God includes everything that is provided to man thru His creating.
Salvation. Of course.
But also the breath we breath, the motion we enjoy, the ability to think, etc.
When God withdraws His grace, man is reduced to motionless confusion and radical fear.

So do I accept grace by faith?
How do I grow in grace?
2 Peter 3:18 "but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."
God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
Heb 4:16 ~~go to the throne of grace to obtain grace to help in time of need.

That is correct, Grace comes through the vehicle of Faith. Faith would be your hold on God, Grace would be Gods hold on you. When you get it into Gods hands it all comes together.
The way you grow in Grace is by trusting God to complete the work. Trust being faith... We are saved by GRACE through faith...
Grace it the power
Faith is the vehicle the power comes through.

One of the greatest frustrations among believers is:
• The inability to change.
For the most part:
• Christians seem to keep their problems for a lifetime.
This is definitely not the will of God!
Good people get caught in a trap:
• They can’t seem to break free…
This is a big problem for a lot of people:
• But God never intended it to be that way.
When someone gets saved:
• Usually there are some immediate changes in many areas of their life.
Most of the time these changes are short lived:
• believers seem to fall into some of the same sins they had before they got saved,
• And there are some sins they fall into after…
What happens is major confusion.
• This causes a lot of people to question their salvation experience.

It almost seems impossible to conquer sin:
• Once it has been made a habit.
Rom 6:14 tells us (Amp)

This is exactly right.
As long as I am focused on me, what I should do or not do, what I have done or haven't done, I find there's sinking feeling within. Thoughts of condemnation creep in. I just can't do it myself!
I was saved by grace. Now I live by grace. My thoughts are fixed instead upon how much the Lord loves me! As I do this the fruit of the spirit is profuse. It happens not by my effort. It just happens.
He loves us, oh how He loves us oh how He loves......
If grace is an ocean we're all sinking.....
