He's following the Swedish model.
and quite frankly I am starting to think that is the best model.
Yes, more people die up front and by NO means do I want people to die. BUT if in fact there WILL be a second wave that makes it seem as if that wave will come one way or another no matter when we reopen, so if you get it over with yes, more people may die, but it will be over ( as opposed to having people die over a longer period.

What measures are Swedish hair salons taking (assuming they are open)?
Sweden for the most part did not close from the start.

I happen to be in GA. I also happen to have a disability that may or may not increase my risk. I also happen to support his decision. He is not saying that people have to go out. He is not even saying that businesses HAVE to reopen he is allowing it, but if you do not feel comfortable you are free to not open/not go out.

Yes, but I would assume Sweden business owners are taking steps to reduce transmission. Hence my question....
Well, those steps may or may not vary, but when you were talking about Sweden I thought you were meaning like that they re-opened and I was saying that they never closed to start with to re-open.

My home state. I haven't lived there in 40+ years, but I go back to visit friends, and my niece.

Everybody knows about Russian Roulette. This is Georgia Roulette. Instead of foolishly taking the chance you'll get a bullet, now you can foolishly take the chance you'll get coronavirus.

Didn't we all discuss this nationally over the last two months? Did you forget?

Everyone sick at once = overwhelmed healthcare system = more deaths

Some people sick at a time = lower overall impact.

The governor stated (in the Fox interview) the state has enough hospital capacity and is prepared to conduct additional testing, contact tracing etc. What can actually be delivered in the event some asymptomatic super spreader infects a gym remains to be seen....

I guess its easier to see in places like NJ, where we had hospitalizations swelled to near our capacity. That's why we don't have plans to reopen yet. If we get just a few % more hospitalizations, we start running out of room and ventilators.

Yes, but the thing is it gets over quicker. This is why Sweden has a slightly higher mortality rate, but time will tell whether they are hit by a second wave when they stayed open the whole time and let it run its course.

Yeah I figured we had hospital space as we have had 20k cases with between 3 to 4k hospitalizations and at least one other hospital that is usually some kind of center that was far from full.

Will Georgian citizens model their behaviours after the Swedes, I wonder.
Time will tell, so far from the people who have been out ( doing needed tasks) said so far people are out even with the stay at home order.

or you can still stay home ( which from what I have seen many people still plan to do.)
