It is from my own experience in my own church, from my fellow believers, that
Gothic christians, are not truly saved, that it is sin-full in respects.
Im not one to entirley understand the whole issue's myself, but recently, i have wanted to become "gothic" as such, but apparently this is not right.
Im quite stuck where i am because i am hearing different points of veiws, for instance, Gothisism ( the only way i can really put it) is only a subculture, and should not affect religon.
Is this true ?

one of my friends, his wife is gothic. this friend of mine is a pastor and just opened up a tattoo parlor. so here we have these two Christians that one is gothic, others may consider him gothic, i don't know if i do, for the definition of gothic is rather pointless to me, but he's a tattooist and a pastor.
i've had friends that were under the goth subculture. i honestly believe it's how you live your life. there are goths out there are not living good lives. i think paxigoth covered it really well.
if goth is based around the colors we wear, then i'm a goth. i love black and dark, earthy tone colors. i think i look sharp in it, and so does my fiancee. do i listen to goth music? by no means. i'm a metal head. now some of the gothic metal i like, but just a few bands. what else can we put into the subculture? see, i don't even know anything about this subculture. some will say goths have a dark outlook on life. and honestly i don't know if i see that. i can see a pessimistic outlook, but not dark. do some have dark outlooks on life? for sure.
but it's like with everything. there will always be something in the subcultures that reflect the mainstream culture. it's where the subcultures come from. so we're equal
there's no difference between the struggles of let's say for me, someone that is into getting tattoos (even tho, i'm taking a temporary break from it right now for money and everything with me and my fiancee spending our lives together) and someone else. there is nothing that stands out in this subculture of people with tattoos, then with people without them. same goes with the gothic crowd. sure we have our individuality, but we have that without tattoos, without looking goth, we have that no matter what. the only difference to me is the outer appearance nothing more.
so if you live the best you can in this, what can really be said bad about it? your fruits is what shows your heart, not you wearing black colored linen.
like paxigoth said, use discernment. you know yourself better than any of us here know you. so just go with that. if you enjoy gothic style of rock or metal, then use discernment for what you listen to based upon your own faith/walk with God. and also, you can be a light the world around you. take the idea of you being a goth. so if that is true, i bet you have friends who are gothic. you can be the light in that. what does listening to goth music, maybe wearing black colored linen, maybe wearing a choker necklace, or black eye liner (just i think sometimes people go too far with that black makeup stuff
) what does that have to do with you being a light in your world?
