  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

After finishing his morning prayer time and meditations, a man walks out of his hut praising God for the precious time spent with his Savior, only to discover he is being stalked by a tiger. He runs. Now, the man knows a few shortcuts through the wilderness but certainly not enough to outwit and out run this cat. He soon comes to the edge of a cliff and realizes that only sharp, jagged cliffs await him down below, but wait, there is a vine. He scurries down the vine as the tiger licks his chops above. Just then, when he thought all that could go wrong has gone wrong, two mice show up on the scene and begin their tasty nibbling on the vine. As the man shakes his head in exasperation, he notices right in front of him a small bunch of strawberries growing out from the side of the cliff. He reaches out, grabs the biggest one, and eats it. Lost in the moment, he honestly replies, "that was the best strawberry I ever had."

Not distracted by the past (the tiger), the present (the mice), or even the future (cliffs below), he savors the present moment. All is gift. God is good. Got strawberry?
