CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not in love with it, the opinion I had of it still stands:
It's the same as Facebook, but with some nicer coding and a "fresh start" with the whole social media thing. Despite several people saying "it's better if you ..." for my on-line social needs it's just redundant. I have no interest in the hangouts, no-one I know in meatspace is on it, in fact the only real reason I do have it is so I can follow some "famous" techies and leech off of their knowledge.
It is still being improved, I know this, but honestly ... I don't get the same rush of "this is brilliant" that I did after switching from myspace to facebook, I don't get the same happy feelings, but then i'm a fuddy duddy. It just feels like... I don't know, using a mac rather than a PC. That's a silly comparison, but that's how it feels. Nothing big or special unless you have a specific reason for using it in favour of the other.

Personally I never liked FB, I liked the customizing of profiles and not having to put real names of Myspace, it was fun. FB always felt like it was trying to be too serious.
Of course Google is doing the same seriousness but I am liking it because it seems they paid attention to what FB did wrong and made sure not to make the same mistakes. It just feels like what FB could of been if they cared what people thought.
Still miss the fun of Myspace though

I'm not as in love with G+ as I was before. I do still very much like it, but I feel like it's equal to Facebook for me. I just use them differently. For me, Facebook is for family, CFers who haven't switched to G+, and following organizations (mostly news; I really like getting news articles in my FB news feed and brands/organizations still aren't allowed for the most part on G+). G+ is great for following photographers (there really is some amazing photography being shared on that site), famous people who are funny or insightful or both, and I seem to find a lot of interesting stuff there that I wouldn't have otherwise (magazines I hadn't heard of, fun graphics, etc).
Update on the games situation: They now have games on G+, but on it's own stream. There is a game button on the top of the page (next to home, profile, and photos buttons). If you don't click on that game button, you will not see game statuses, invites, or anything like that. It's beautiful.

I have abandoned my G+ profile. I have issues with their real names policy and uneven enforcement of it. If you have a name that is real, but not normal sounding to them (in other words, a typical White name) your account could be suspended. It's happening to quite a few people. They are asking for government IDs to verify identity. I'm sorry, but I don't think G+ is so special that they have the right to ask that. And what are they doing with the info gathered? Speaking of which, that's another thing that I don't like about G+. They are combining all of your Google services. It's marketed as for your convenience, but it seems to be just to gather as much info as possible to make money (and possibly sell your info to 3rd parties).
Sure Facebook does the same thing, but I only have one service with them and they don't suspend people's profiles all willy nilly. So, now I'm just using FB and have re-joined Myspace (for the music and blog).

I never did jump on the G+ train. I don't hear much about it, so I'm assuming it's not taking off like MySpace and then FB did.

It's actually quite active, if you don't just follow/circle people you know and treat it more like Twitter. Normally I don't jump into new things (took me a bit to join FB, though I did while it was still university students only), but I was curious about G+.

I'm still digging G+, just love the format, sure it has privacy issues but they haven't affected me yet so not worried personally.
I can't stand going on FB anymore, the new highlights thing messed up my stream so everything is doubled and all the highlights i really don't care for usually. Plus the awkwardness of having your wall closed to posting and people getting all blah about it. Sorry but it's my wall, not your place to post random pointless junk. Which is what I dig a lot about G+ People can only post to their own walls.
Myspace was awesome for the customization back in the day, but feels too much like a wannabe FB clone now. Will be interesting to see what they do with the music thing though.
For now I'm sticking mainly with G+ and Twitter, with random odd visits to MS and FB. I have all of em set up to email me if i get a PM anyways so not worried about being reachable.

Oh yes, I love the customization or as I like to call it "the pretties."
Facebook and G+ do not let me be as creative. And it's nice to have a social network with a built-in decent blog (notes does not count and the FB blog apps are made of fail), which I have been using once again. But yeah, Myspace trying to be a FB clone is why I left in the first place (that and them taking away "grade your professor" and groups being overtaken by spam and/or porn bots). It's kind of boring, though, if I'm not listening to music or blogging. At least with Facebook I have a news feed that gives me interesting news articles, along with friends' status updates. I do still applaud G+'s handling of games, though. They at least did that right.
