  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Solution . . .

Chris and Dusty row across, Dusty returns.
Alex rows over, and Chris returns.
Chris and Dusty row across again, Dusty returns.
Brook rows across with the Supplies, and Chris returns.
Chris and Dusty row across again for the last time.

all done :D

LOL, now wasn't that 'an easy one' ?

dave

:doh:WHY didn't I get that! I realised Chris and Dusty were the only two who could go together, but I never thought of using them to bring the canoe back for the others to go across alone. :doh:When I think of all the ideas I came up with - and it was as straightforward as that.

A great puzzle and good fun - thanks Dave. :)

Thank you Sue Sis'

This puzzle reminded me of, weighing different blocks at infants school [?]

and I guess, the puzzle, made you concentrate [more than was necessary]
on the individual differences in weight of the adventurers

~instead of the proportions that would FIT the stated limits
and allow the obstacle to be overcome

iow: how the 'scales' could be used to move the total payload
[to the maximum allowed, each trip] to the other side of the river

I will post another puzzle shortly :)

Good Luck with that one

your Bro'

I've only just got online - well done to those who got them right. I worked out "queue" for #75, but was going to say "time" for #76.

Do you know the one about the two guards, two doors and one question Dave? BTW if you reply and I don't answer it's because my ISP is playing up again! :argh:

Thanks for the link Dave. I first heard it about 50 years ago, and it's stuck with me all these years. :)

I haven't been online for a few days, but NOT due to my ISP thankfully. I  that is resolved.

Take care,

Sue

:Hello: Sue Sis'

I have been very busy here this past week

I'd begun redecorating [a bit at a time ~pacing myself with rest-periods]
When, [out of the blue] we get a phonecall from Mary's son David,
that he would be coming with his friend Paul [last Friday]
to fit the wooden flooring, that he had left with us [living room]
I placed some pictures in Chit Chat

Since then, I have been fitting some edging strip around the skirting boards
The bending causes my lips to 'ring', and the kneeling causes 'dead-legs'
or metatarsal cramps
So, it is taking me much longer, than it would have done years-ago
But the joy, is in seeing the work progress \o/
and I will be finished tomorrow [for-sure]

and then, it will be back to painting

I do apologize, that I haven't posted new questions/puzzles/riddles yet
but "I'll Be Back" :D :p

Don't worry about the puzzles Dave - you need to get your decorating done, and I hope it doesn't cause more health problems. How nice to get the wood flooring. I'll have a look at those pictures on Chit Chat. :)
