I don't think there is enough spoken about hell in the bible to make a exact judgement on saying people are eternally damned.

I just see it as a false way of man putting people in terror misusing the word of God.

Hi,

It is very clear in the bible that those who do not believe in Jesus are going to hell for the sin of unbelief, which is the only unpardonable sin.

The only reason I wrote what I did below, was because she specifically asked or I would never had wrote it as I do not believe in preaching hell, fear, or condemnation in any way.

Jesus said:
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

We know that righteous refers to those who believed in God.

We know that salvation comes by faith in God, not works. So we know the righteousness spoken of in above verse is not about works. This is shown in many places in the NT, which also refers us back the OT.

Jesus taught hell in the bible (this is only one example above), revelation speaks to it as well. As do the gospel books. I don't think God would lie to us.

Blessings,
tapero

let me see..
God will send us to hell for believing in the 'wrong Jesus' as you say to me b/c im Mormon... will God send christians who dnt believe in the trinity to hell?

No, God sends people to hell because they're unregenerate, unforgiven sinners. Believing the Mormon Jesus and denying the biblical Trinity are merely byproducts of being unregenerate and unforgiven.

why would God send someone to hell who was earnestly seeking Him bt thought they found Him in religieon B instead of religion A?

Because sincerity has nothing to do with truth. Otherwise, Charles Manson can expected to show up in heaven one day for sincerely believing that he was both Jesus and Satan.

if they were seeking Him.. bt thought they found Him in another religion.. bt were wrong... bt they didnnt know any better..God will send the to hell?...........is that sth God wd do?!!!!!!??

No unregenerate sinner, lost in trespasses and sins, and being led about by the prince of the power of the has any desire to seek for God. And until you understand that, which is a revelation that comes directly from God, and found in His Book, then you will continue on asking these kinds of questions, falsely assuming that they're wrong and the concoction of men.

Romans 3:11 There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God;

Ephesians 2:1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

ive repented and repent of my sins all the time... and i fail to see how mormon Jesus is a byproduct of being unregenerate or unforgiven... so youll have to explain moreto me on why mormon Jesus is wrong... and why not believing in the trinity is wrong... when theres no scriptual evidence.. jst looking into it too much.. youll have to show me some more evidence please x

lol whos Manson? y know what a mean anyway.. bc i mean.. if one serious is a member of a faith bc they think its the right one.. then why wd they go to hell bc they were wrong.. if they were willing to go into the right religion after death when it was revealed t them.. sounds unfair :(

according to you... im one of those.. bt i am seeking Him

can you pelase show me proof theyre not..? :) theres no need to be rude tho lol.. im not saying theyre wrong.. bt i see no proof theyre right either. x

... will God send christians who dnt believe in the trinity to hell?
Well, let's examine what some of the simple basics are of being a christian. A christian is someone who 1) believes there is only one God who is eternal, always was, and always will be, 2) believes Jesus is God in the flesh, and 3) believes Jesus rose from the dead physically.

Now that we know what just a few of the main points are of being called called a christian, and there are many other points, we can deduce that anyone who does not have at least these basic beliefs is not a christain. RIGHT? I only bring this up because your OP seems to suggest a christian could be someone who does not beleive in Jesus as the incarnate God...... So anyone who claims to be christian and doesn't hold to all of these basic points IS NOT A CHRISTIAN.

Why should we show you proof? Why don't you seek out the truth for yourselves or ask God to show you proof. We can't convince you of anything, but if you really want then answer then pray about it and God will send it to you.

It's important to recognize that our personal opinions of how things should run are sometimes different than the collection of beliefs we have chosen to respect.

When a question is asked on this subforum, the premise is that we are offering what we know of scriptures and other reference material.

As Melissa said, anyone can look up the answers for themselves, which would have prevented plenty of personal attacks.

We are willing to answer questions... that's why we're here. We're not here to debate whose theology is more correct, or who is wiser for believing what.

Bloodfire, it's not for us to convince you my friend, but the Holy Spirit to convict you.

God says when you seek Him with all your heart, He will be found by you, and once you know the truth of who Jesus Christ is, the real Jesus Christ, you will turn away from the false doctrines and beliefs. As a born again Christian, you will not want to mix error with truth.

And I believe that you are seeking and Jesus is revealing Himself to you. Allow Him in to your heart, mind and soul, don't block Him out by wanting physical proof. Faith comes by believing, not evidence. Asking for proof in my opinion is your "defense mechanism", because you have always believed in the Mormon way. Bloodfire, let go and let God. He wants to make Himself known to you. Listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, He wants to lead you into truth.

  3. John 10:30-33 - "I and the Father are one." 31The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."
  4. John 20:28 - "Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

  5. Col. 2:9 - "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form."

  6. Phil. 2:5-8 - "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

  7. Heb. 1:8 - "But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom."
    1. Quoted from Psalm 45:6, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Thy kingdom."

Matt. 2:11 - "And they came into the house and saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him; and opening their treasures they presented to Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh."
Matt. 14:33 - "And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "You are certainly God’s Son!"
Matt. 28:9 - "And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him."
John 9:35-38 - "Jesus heard that they had put him out; and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" 36He answered and said, "And who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" 37Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you." 38 And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshiped Him."
  2. Heb. 1:6 - "And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, 'And let all the angels of God worship Him.'"
Jesus is prayed to
  1. Acts 7:55-60 - "But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; 56 and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." 57But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears, and they rushed upon him with one impulse. 58And when they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him, and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59And they went on stoning Stephen as he called upon the Lord and said, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!" 60And falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them!" And having said this, he fell asleep."
1 Cor. 1:1-2 - "Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours." (The phrase, "to call upon the name of the Lord" is a phrase used to designate prayer.)
    1. 1 Kings 18:24 - "Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord, and the God who answers by fire, He is God." And all the people answered and said, "That is a good idea."
    2. Zech. 13:9 - "And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’"
Rom. 10:13-14 - "for 'whoever will call upon the name of the Lord' will be saved." 14 How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? 1. Joel 2:32 - "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call." First and Last
  1. Isaiah 44:6 - "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me."
