CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If I were to have read this topic this morning, I more than likely would have ended up putting an axe through my monitor! 
The truth is that I don't know. I've been struggling with it some time, but I'm learning to be patient and receptive to whatever He tells me (and not what other people tell me ).

I don't know....I've had lots of talks with Him about this subject lately, and either I'm not listening right, or He isn't telling me anything. There are some pretty big changes coming up for me, though, so we'll see where it leads.

I think if you earnestly seek God's Will, and try to change your life into what you KNOW (directly from teh Bible) is God's will, He will just quite simply work your life for you.
In other words, if you're walking in the Spirit, then the choices you make will also be in the Spirit....
Now, having said that, errrrr... I wouldn't exactly say I'm a great role model for that

Right now, it is God's will that I work at the job I'm at, that I live in the house that I live in, that I drive the car that I do, that I have my family around me, that I am a moderator on this board, that I am single, that I love all, that I speak his words when he wants me too. God's will is everywhere in my life. It always has been and always will be. As for his will for me in the furture, I don't know what that holds. But I will do my best to serve him and always do his will. I know what I want in life, to be a wife and mother someday. But I know that it is in his hands, not mine.

God's will for your life is that you follow His will!!!

Sometimes I get confused about God's will. I do try to put God first in most things/situations in my life to the point where I feel like I am trying to be "too" good that it's boring. However, when I look back over my life, I believe that God has been leading and directing me. So though I'm feeling a bit confused, I'm trusting that God will work things out in my life.
For instance, I had decided to change careers and am getting ready to graduate from grad school later this year. Life has been hectic while going to school, but it seems like God has been blessing me to get my studies done and keep my relationship in tack with Him and my children (these were concerns of mine when I applied to grad school). I'm a little anxious about what will happen after I graduate, but I'm believing God will work things out as He always has in my life.
All I know to do is keep praying about it. One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way thou shalt go, I will guide thee with mine eye."

I know that God is telling me to reach out to my friends, but my unbelief gets in the way a lot of the time. I'm been reading a lot about what it means to follow God's will and I'm just understanding so much more than I used to. Following His will doesn't mean always being happy with everything, but it also doesn't mean that I will be miserable all the time either. God does use signs to help us see what he wants us to do, but sometimes he asks us to do things that seem to be impossible and then opens the doors. I've also learned from my mom's mistakes that we cannot listen to other people (always) who say that something is God's will (ie. God told me I should marry you - when not backed up by much prayer and knowing that that person really knows it and did not make it up for selfish reasons). Continue to grow in discerning God's will - ask someone to help you with this if you need to. There's a good book by Henry Blackaby on this topic. Peace!

If I could go back and do it all over again, I would say that God's will for me would have been to put on a helmet and hang on for the ride.
At 20, give or take a couple of years, nothing makes sense. I couldn't find my out of a well lit room with an open door. The one constant is confusion.
I believe in you guys. Just hang in there and one day, it'll all begin to make sense. God works through the time on our lives to make us what he wills. God's greater view of the big picture usually just leaves us confused about what is going on. But when we can look back on the things in life, we can see kind of a pattern. You can see God's hand in it all.

Mr. Cheese said it well, now your life might seem like confusion. But in a bit when you look back on it, you will be able to see God's hand in it all. And you will wonder why you couldn't see it all along. Or at least, sometimes that is what happens to me. It is just hard to see God sometimes when you are right in the thick of things. That is when you have to learn to trust Him. Trust when you don't always see. Easier said than done, right?

My vocation is a big one right now. Married Life, Single Life, or Religious Life. One minute I am so sure that I am supposed to get married, but then maybe I'm not supposed to. Maybe I would serve God better if I was a Religious. maybe if I was single. or maybe not. Argh! *sigh
Would you guys please pray for me, and i will pray for you. Pray that we figure out Gods Will in Our Lives, and carry it out to the fullest extent!

I am definetly agreeing with Paul on this one. I always have told God that if he wanted me to be single He would have to take away my desire to get married.
Being single isn't always fun, but it is during this time that we can actually become what God has called us to. Do not be discouraged but in everything continually thank God.

We got so worried about what to do. Hopefully I can help you guys out by saying this.
God's will is one day at a time. You wake up and you love God for that day. That's what we were made for. Not to preach or go to Africa or convert our whole school. We were made to know God one day at a time.
God doesn't have a 12 step plan for us. He has a groove for us. As I have started to do this I notice that life sort of starts to flow. It's pretty crazy sometimes. But it works. A few years ago, when I got back on track with God, he told us to quit our jobs and go back to school. That's freaking nuts folks! But it worked. I'm in school. I wound up here just...I don't even know how that happened. Life couldn't be better right now. And all that is going on in my life started by taking it one day at a time.
