  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi,
i have recently begun my walk with God again (very cool!). After along time away from him have recently had major life changing events from Him and just some insane experiences. Not to do a full blown testimony but essentially God stopped me from commiting suicide. So as you can imagine walking with Him again is now pretty amazing!

Anyway i was hoping to get some advice from whoever would offer it. I have been having some really intense and intimate experiences with God in my private worship, at the height of this a few nights ago im certain God spoke to me. My mind was very clear (i was that caught up in everything i wasn't thinking at all, very tranquil) and it just came to me.

Anyway i would rather not go completly into detail as to what He said to me but He said basically something that i really want to happen would happen. He then said "In you iam well pleased". Now i have no doubt in my mind that He said the latter. It was perhaps the best thing that i needed to hear given my lack of real faith in the past, so to know im on the right track now is really incredible. However i have very large reason to doubt the former.

Now as they were part of the sentence and were so clear, i either look at it like they were both true or they were both my own thoughts. But as i said im pretty stone cold certain that the last thing He said was from him.

I feel a bit like some of the people in the OT that doubted his word when he spoke to them, and then He ends up bringing a large backhand down on them for doubting him haha.

I try to hear Him right now but my thoughts go a bit insane when i get onto the topic.

Anyway any advice and or passages you could offer would be massively appreciated!

Hi Offspin , and welcome .

" In you I am well pleased " sounds similar to -

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. <-----> Matthew 12:18

And -

And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. <-----> Mark 1:11

Both of these were referring to Jesus .

Yet , if / when we turn from our own evil ways to seek again The Lord ( like a prodigal son ) , it fits that as such , we would be pleasing in God's sight .

The Lord's Voice is distinct - a Holy combination of Absolute Power + Dignified Kindness .

He speaks with such Authority that even quietness does not diminish the weightiness of His Voice .

He is eloquent , while being concise .

He is fearless , yet meek .

He is Right , but also humble .

Piercing , yet comforting .

Convicting , yet encouraging .

Independent , yet supportive .

Patient , but not permissive .

Tolerant , but not indifferent .

Holy , and also hospitable .

He Instructs , He does not nag .

He speaks with vision and shows us His Word .

There emanates a rare quality from His Voice which inspires simultaneously both fear and love in a way which stimulates deeply reverential worship .

And this is but a tiny fraction , somewhat feebly represented , of The Lord's Goodness & Grace !

Hope + Pray this is helpful !

It is good that you are cautious, and also good that you are willing to recognize unbelief. We all have to face these decisions of faith, and it's not easy!

But you could just say a thank-you and "please understand my caution," then move on with scripture-based faith.
He said basically something that i really want to happen would happen.

If there was a directive -- a statement in the vision where you heard you needed to do something -- then it makes it more difficult to reconcile. But God is in less of a hurry than we are, so stay with Him while you talk this over with Him.

From what I have seen, callings usually are given years before anything concrete takes shape. God gives us time to train and prepare. Because of this, you have more flexibility than it might appear now.

Just be responsible with what you have been given. Whether it is from God or not, you can still live out your next steps honoring God.

Set your foot out to test the waters, and just start moving in that direction. But keep God as your focal point, more than the goal.
Living responsibly is scripturally more important to God than heroism and conquests, or getting it right.

Hi, Offspin, and welcome!

I have been having the same experiences with God. It is amazing, yet difficult to convey to others, isn't it?

Wayfaring's description of God's voice is the best I've ever seen.

I would suggest asking the Father about it. He'll tell you if that had been him the first time.

Are you also getting a lot of 'light-bulb moments' - sudden insight and understanding over issues that maybe you never saw before?

Thanks guys lots of help.

Yes light bulb moments certainly, and just amazing never-before-felt moments of initmacy with God probably one of the best things is the questions i had before are now being answered.

Haha yes i have been asking Him and talking to Him about it alot but i'am very emotionaly involved in it so i become a bit overly emotional/a mess haha. I guess it is just sitting with it for the time being until i'am more peaceful with it.
